The buses used on our tour today felt like antiques and I’m sorry to say this tour is absolutely terrible value for money!
My husband and I have travelled extensively from Australia and almost always do a hop on, hop off bus tour in every city visited to see sights and visit a city’s major attractions. Vancouver is the worst we have ever encountered and that includes Quito, Ecuador where there was an armed guard on board to keep patrons safe, Lima and Santiago, which are poor socio-economically, and throughout Asia and Europe.
The buses in Vancouver are old, noisy and incredibly uncomfortable and certainly were not double-decker (perhaps they were retired at the end of summer!)
The drivers, and we had three on our route around Vancouver, varied from a complete chatterbox who didn’t shut up, speaking complete rubbish over the taped commentary, one who didn’t say a word and barely managed to drive the ancient bus and one who was blunt to the point of almost being rude to patrons.
The prices are expensive and surprisingly there is no discount for seniors, which is widely available throughout Canada.
There were no modern amenities, including seatbelts and wi-fi, commonly available on hop on, hop off buses worldwide.
We were very disappointed and could not recommend this tour to anyone.

I'm sorry you had such a negative experience, but it was not with this company. Landsea Tours does not operate any hop-on hop off-tours. The only company providing hop-on hop-off services in Vancouver is Gray Line Sightseeing.

The tour was greatly improved by personal commentary by some of the drivers, Lynne in particular. One driver ( name withheld ) missed out two stops and clients were told to get off and wait for the next bus if they wished to visit these stops. This was the worst part of our tour. Overall the tour was worthwhile.

You’ll be surprised that there is not much to see! One clue is that the tour narration is mostly silent, as there is not much to comment on. Chinatown is a filthy haven for homeless drug addicts who live on the sidewalks.

We have used hop on/hop off bus tours in many cities around the world, as a good way of getting our bearings, especially when we are there for only a short time. This was much the poorest we have experienced. It was not cheap - 59 Canadian dollars each. Much of the bus (single decker, so view was not great) was enclosed by plastic sheeting. This misted up, impeding the view, and leaked, resulting in streams of rain drips falling on us. The commentary, on two of the buses we travelled on, was pre recorded: it was superficial, and not very informative. Very little about the history and heritage of Vancouver. The main problem however, was that there were not enough buses. Those that there were were full, so there was plenty of demand. The service was advertised as being every twenty minutes. But we had to wait about an hour, in the rain with no shelter, at one stop, for the next bus. The online info about where the buses were was unreliable. So, beware of getting off the bus: you may have a very long wait for the next one!

Really great tour around all of Vancouver which is an absolutely beautiful city with lots to see. We were first time visitors so we took the tour to get out bearings of the city.
Our tour guide Lyn was evidently very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly, despite it being a full on day of rain. Lots of the city is outdoor, although we still had a great day.
Only small fault is that the buses weren’t very comfortable, and because it was so wet, the rain leaked through, but to be honest, that’s a very tiny gripe.

Recently rode the double decker for a rainy day activity; it was an intimate experience as it was only myself and another gentleman - I was delighted by the route and comfort of the bus. Maxine was the tour guide and the level of knowledge she displayed, as well as funny and engaging commentary really made the experience. She was able to answer myself and the other occupants random questions regarding Vancouver and it’s vast history as well as taking time to inquire about our recent adventures to crate a more personalized experience.
Would highly recommend this activity (do the full loop, it’s worth it) and if you’re fortunate to have Maxine guide you, you’re in for a real treat!

Thank you for your kind review regarding both our Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour and your tour guide, Maxine.
We're very glad that you found our route through Downtown Vancouver enjoyable along with the comfortability of our new Double-Decker buses. More importantly, we loved reading about the quality of service that Maxine provided. We were new to Vancouver and had a wet day in January to see the city so chose this tour. It was a very good. Hoi was as the bus was comfortable, the guides were very informative and it’s an excellent way to see the city. We stayed on the bus from Burrard street all the way round to Granville Island and decided to return to Gastown as that was the area that had interested us most. Stanley Park was also inviting but it’s quite a long way out of town and you’d have to wait an hour in winter for the next bus

Hi Susan R - 'Stop 3 - Robson' along our Hop-On, Hop-Off route is located right out front of the Blue Horizon Hotel, located at 1225 Robson St. Please look for our blue and black Landsea Tours sign in the passenger zone in front of the hotel. Thanks for the question! Ryan V | Operations Supervisor

What’s the closest starting point to Queen Elizabeth Park? Thank you, JC
landseatoursryan
Vancouver, Canadá
Hi JC - Queen Elizabeth Park is located about a ten-minute drive south from Downtown Vancouver. You could head north from Queen Elizabeth Park up Main St. to Stop 12 - Olympic Village located in front of Pacific Central Station & Thornton Park. Alternatively, you could head north up Granville St. (located about 10 blocks west from the Park) and onto Granville Island where you could catch a False Creek Ferry to Stop 8 - Sunset Beach in Downtown Vancouver. The return-trip on False Creek Ferries is included in the price of your Hop-On, Hop-Off ticket. Please feel free to give us a call toll-free at 1-877-669-2277 if there's anything we can help clarify. Thanks for your question! Ryan V | Operations Supervisor
What is the closest stop to the Pacific Central VIA train station? We will be taking Amtrak to Seattle at 7 PM and would need to be at the station by 6.

Hi Bill S,
Directly in front of Pacific Central Station is Thornton Park, and on the West side of the park along Main Street is 'Stop 12 - Olympic Village' along our Hop On, Hop Off route. The stop is just a short two-minute walk across the park to access Pacific Central Station.
Thank you for your question!
