Do it! I went by myself and I had a great time! I learned so very much about rum, its history and tasted different types. Very. informative. The venue was very nice with a great shop.I was able to get all my souvenirs in one stop. The tasting guide was informative and fun. It was money well spent. Do it!

We did this tour to taste Oliver Rum products while in Punta Cana. We were picked up and returned to our resort on time. There was shopping available prior to the tour. Good selection of cigars, coffee , clothing and souvenirs. Our rum tour was led by a great gentlemen who was very knowledgeable about their products. We were taken to the back of the store in a private setting. We tasted 4 different high end rums along with cheese and chocolate samples. Each type of rum was explained thoroughly and had distinctive taste. After the tasting we were led back into the store and had time to taste a few other products as well. Rum was available for purchase . Staff was very knowledgeable throughout the tour. American dollars and credit cards were accepted. I highly recommend this tour if you like rum ; this is a terrific tour. We never felt rushed and our guide was very personable and spoke very good English. Total time with transportation was about 3 hours.

This is a rum tasting learning experience. When we arrived I was concerned it was not going to be what I booked. Firstly you enter a store and are given a short history about chocolate. You are given samples of chocolate and hot chocolate. (The hot chocolate is beautiful). Then you sample coffee and are informed about the different blends. Learned something new about blends! Then you are given a small tasting of rhum. After this we were taken into a separate room where we met Anthony (I think that was his name. Sorry). Here we were shown a short history about Oliver rhum. Then a quick lesson on how it's produced.
Then the tasting! We were taught how to see the age of a rhum, how to look at the color and how to smell the rhum. Then the actual tasting. At this stage you are taught what to eat to change the taste of the rhum. We learnt so much. I would definitely recommend this tour.

En meget god historie, en dygtig guide.
Udvalget af hvad man kan smage er ikke overvældende, men man får gode ideer til Rom smagning hjemme UDEN COLA ;-)
De Oliver Rom vi smagte var ren nydelse, som i meget godt rom. Ikke noget med is eller cola, men ren nydelse

Wir waren in einer kleinen Gruppe bei Olivers Rum Tasting vor Ort. Wir hatten leider keinen Deutsch sprechenden Guide, jedoch war genügend Zeit nach den einzelnen Erklärungen dies für unsere Gruppe zu übersetzen. Die Erklärungen zu den einzelnen Rum Sorten waren sehr ausführlich und auch die zu probierenden Rums waren sehr gut. Für den Preis absolut empfehlenswert :)

Abbiamo prenotato la visita e non sapevamo cosa aspettarci. Ci sono venuti a prendere e, una volta arrivati, abbiamo trovato il solito imbonitore che ha provato a venderci i vari prodotti. Ci siamo rimasti un po male, tanto che ce ne stavamo andando.
Quasi per caso abbiamo poi capito che dovevamo infilarci in una porta per partecipare alla degustazione.
È stato interessante, istruttivo, divertente e piacevole, anche se, al contrario della pubblicità, non era in Italiano. In inglese è andata bene lo stesso!

Me and my partner did the rum tasting experience (booked through TUI) and really enjoyed it, it’s not a distillery tour so go with these expectations, however still a great couple of hours! Tasting of 4 different rums & paired with different things (cheese, chocolate etc) to enhance the taste! Would definitely recommend

This was a really fun and informative tasting with Dominican Rum. Afterward, you get to shop for Dominican items and souvenirs. Transportation was easy and had cold AC.

We were picked up by a private minibus and taken to what we thought was just going to be a rum tasting experience. We were met by Felix our guide. He first introduced us to chocolate. Explaining how chocolate is made from start to finishing allowing us to taste a bean straight from the cocoa pod which I have to say looked more like something from a Bushtucker trial. The smells and tastes of the different chocolate was amazing. We then moved onto coffee. Again Felix explained the process in detail mentioning which coffee you should drink a different times of the day. We were then taken through the gift shop ready to taste the rum. We then went into a separate area where we were given a talk and watched a short video about how Olivers Rum is made whilst drinking a very nice refreshing rum drink. The process of sugar in the rum was then talked about, before we moved over to a lovely seating area where the tasting began. Once again Felix filled us with his knowledge about Rum. We tried 4 different rums. Felix explained about each one. We tried a rum first then spoke about the flavours within the rum. We were then given something to accompany the rum, who would of thought having a piece of cheese with mango puree grape with honey or chocolate and salt would enhance and bring out different flavours. It was an amazing experience well worth doing is you have a morning or afternoon free. Felix was an amazing guide and was passionate about his job. One thing I would say, make sure you eat something before you go to soak up the rather larger measures
