Seven cruise friends booked this tour during our port stop in Iceland and it was the best decision we made. Our wonder Viking guide, Mr. S., met us just as we got off the ship and we were whisked away for a wonderful day of adventure. We were a good 45 minutes ahead of the buses and crowds all day. Our guide was authentic and really knew what he was telling us as we drove around his beautiful country. We even got to stop at a few secret spots along the way. I would book with them again next time in in Iceland. It was truly a memorable and wonderful day!

8 friends of mine booked a private tour with Snaeland Travel for two days out of Reykjavik. I highly recommend asking for Lena who speaks perfect English. We did the golden circle one day and the southern peninsula the next day. She was on time, kept to the schedule and even made a short stop in town so my friend could pick up a souvenir at the hard rock. She was so knowledgeable about the thermal dynamics of the country and on the second day she took us to a fishing village where we had lunch. The best fish and chips I’ve ever had was here. I loved Iceland and I can’t say enough about this two day tour. YOU MUST MUST MUST DO THIS TOUR. BTW…IT was way cheaper than the cruise line which offers the same tour. We were able to book online from home and my cc was not charged until a few days before the tour. There is a 24 hour cancellation with refund, LENA ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful day we had with Anna from Private Hire Iceland through the Golden Circle and in the Reykjadalur Valley – Jæja!! Our trip to Iceland was pure magic – but our day with Private Hire Iceland was particularly special and unique. Anna was very attentive to us and shared so much about Iceland and Icelanders.
Our stop at Þingvellir was much better than the typical 45-minute bus tour stop. We were able to take our time and explore the beauty of that special place.
The highlight of our day was a bespoke side trip to the Reykjadalur Valley and the hot river (note this is not part of the standard tour but was an add-on by us).
Thank you SO MUCH for an amazing day, Private Hire Iceland. The next time we visit Iceland, we will be sure to book another bespoke trip with you.
Anna – you are a wonderful tour guide and a happy, fun person to be around – we are lucky we got to spend the day with you.

Amazing tour with Anna! She was so informative, friendly, helpful and courteous and really made our Golden Circle tour a highlight of our trip. She was on time to pick us up from the port and made the tour a relaxing and stress free way to see the awesome sights that Iceland has to offer. She made several amazing stops for us, even taking us to a great Hot dog stand and farm for ice cream, and even kept my 7 year old engaged and excited throughout the long day! I highly recommend this tour!! You will not be disappointed.

Iceland has a population of about 380,000, and previous to Covid had over 2,000,000 visitors per year. What this means for tourists is that if you want to take a Golden Circle Tour, you better book it considerably in advance.
We did not book the tour far enough in advance. When we tried to schedule a Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik, there were NO tour guides available, only drivers. With Private Hire Iceland, we were provided with a driver who did an excellent job of taking us to the main sites (the Gullfoss waterfall, the Strokkur waterspout and the Thingvellir National Park) and through beautiful areas of the island. But, he was not a tour guide.
And because of our late date in booking, we were charged hundreds of dollars more than we would have paid for a private tour WITH a guide if we had booked earlier.
Private Hire Iceland provided us with what they indicated they would -- a driver. A driver AND guide would be preferable.

The Golden Circle Private Tour with Johann was excellent. I just had a brief time in Reykjavik but I wanted to see the sights of the Golden Circle. It was wonderful to make the stops and enjoy ourselves with no pressure to make sure we were back on a bus with the rest of a group. Johann was highly knowledgeable and he answered all of our questions, not only about the Golden Circle but anything related to Iceland. It was more expensive than a bus tour but totally worth the money.

We took the Golden Circle Private tour on 7/15/22 with Johann as our guide. He was on time, courteous, informative, and he really took the time to make sure we got what we wanted out of the tour. He always told us the best way to see the sights at every stop and he would make it as easy as possible for us when getting out of and back to the van. The tour never felt rushed and he truly cared that our day spent with him was the best possible. He answered all of our questions, told us a lot about the history of Iceland and the places we visited and as an added bonus, he was also very funny! It is very obvious that he is passionate about Iceland and truly loves sharing it with visitors.
Overall, Iceland is so beautiful and there’s no better way to see it than on a private tour in a very comfortable and spacious van with an amazing local guide. We’ve taken serval tours in other countries on this particular vacation and this one was hands down our favorite—even our 13 and 17 year old daughters voted this one as the best! When we come back to Iceland for a longer stay, I will use Private Hire Iceland again and I will definitely ask if it would be possible for Johann to be our guide!!
Overall, Iceland is so beautiful and there’s no better way to see it than on a private tour in a very comfortable and spacious van with an amazing local guide. We’ve taken serval tours in other countries on this particular vacation and this one was hands down our favorite—even our 13 and 17 year old daughters voted this one as the best! Our day with Anna from Private Hire Iceland was easily the no. 1 highlight of our trip to Iceland. She picked us up promptly on time from our cruise and instantly made us feel so welcomed. From the first 10 minutes we knew we were going to have an incredible day and we did. She was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited and so easy to talk to. Thank you Anna for giving us a tour that we will remember forever. I’m so pleased we booked Private Hire Iceland!!!

Two families (7 total including three teens) had an amazing day with "Mr. S." on the Golden Circle tour. He was prompt and courteous and very willing to adapt to the day's activities in order to give us the greatest of experiences. We never felt rushed and appreciated the "door to door" service. Pick up and drop off were literally steps from our hotel. This was a day we will never forget. Just spectacular. We would absolutely recommend Private Hire Iceland and specifically our guide/driver, Mr. S.

One word. JOHANN. This man made my entire Iceland trip. My family and I did two private tours and got him both times. So glad we did. He brought traditional Icelandic food for us to try, knew the answer and more to every single question asked, was funny and charismatic, drove super safe, made the days fun without worry, i seriously can’t say enough good things about this wonderful human being. Each tour was fantastic and we saw so many things- we did the golden circle one day and then the South coast the other day. If you’re visiting Iceland for the first time, trust me, do one of these tours and request Johann. He went above and beyond in every respect. He even gifted my sister and I with mini puffin statues. Incredibly generous and kind. If you’re reading this Johann, THANK YOU!!! I miss you already!! -kendall

Is it suitable for an older person who can't walk very far...She is happy to wait at the bus if there is a lot of walking but would she still see plenty? Alternatively is it suitable for wheelchairs?
We are a group of 8 to 10 people? How much would this tour be? It would be on July 3 2019. Also what would airport transfer be with and without 5he Blue Lagoon?
