Gives a good insight of both sides and an interesting tour around Hebron. Thanks to Mohammad and Eli for being great guides. I would have loved to also speak to some Palestinian residents of Tel Rumeida. I know there was probably not enough time for everything, so priorities are necessary. I recommend!!

There is nothing better than this, to be in person to hear both side of the stories, Eliyahu did a great job and he is amazingly and knowledgeable and very friendly. I am really thankful for his effort to put this tour together. He is such a gentlemen for letting Mohamed tell the stories first. The tour gave a good insight of the whole situation that the media does not tell. The opportunity to tour the area and historical tomb was great. I would strongly recommend the tour.

I loved the tour. It was really insightful to go to Hebron and see the reality with my own eyes, and hear the stories directly from the people who live them daily. The dual narrative tour does what is expected from it and presents both the Israeli and the palestinian version of the conflict in a very interesting way. Both guys are extremely friendly and nice. Definitely recommend it.

This tour is an opportunity to learn more of historical and present day Hebron, and its complex political realities, than one might read in a lengthy book. The knowledge, honesty and sincerity of each guide, Mohammad and Eliahu was a gift to all 15 of us participants. Neither were shy in presenting their views of the complex realities of life on the ground nor in responding to our often challenging questions. Particular highlights for me were walking through the full Palestinian controlled H1 area, and in meeting with a remarkable Jewish woman and author, born and raised in Hebron and who tragically lost her father in their home to a terrorist attack.

Amazing place and incredible guides. Learn about how ancient history influences contemporary events. If you want to see the reality on the ground of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict there’s no better place.

Our guide, Eliyahu, made the entire experience memorable! His level of knowledge was impressive, yet he was able to share this expertise in a conversational manner that resulted in better comprehension of the material. His tour is an absolute MUST to further understand the history and complexity of issues in this area of the world.

This was a great tour and I really recommend it. We took public transport (tram and bus) to Hebron which was easy and comfortable. Our Israeli guide accompanied us and gave explanations on the journey to Hebron and delivered us to our Palestinian guide, then collected us again to guide us in the afternoon. Both guides gave reasonably balanced explanations and introduced us to people who live and work in Hebron. It was fascinating to see the differences in the various areas in the city.
Lunch was tasty and plentiful, provided by a Palestinian family.

Many articles in news papers worldwide have been written about this Dual Narrative tour, organized by the jewish Rodesh Shalom (Peace Seaker) Eliyahu McLean, and his Palestinian counterpart Mohammed al-Mohtaseb. So I was so glad it finally happened to us participation as part of a 3 day Westbank package by Abraham Tours.

I was so glad I did this trip, which belongs to the most remarkable and among the top five of Israel tours so far during many years of visiting Israel. We started the trip from Jerusalem to the Israeli side of Hebron using public transport in an armored bus - and it added to the experience to learn how it feels for Israeli people who - in their own country - still need protection just for doing a bus ride. After a briefing in the public bus while tranferring to Hebron, and outside next to Machpela Visitors Center, we were given into the hands of Mohammed, and visited the Palestinian side of Hebron (al-Khalil) first, including Ibrahimi Mosque, shouk and parts of the modern shopping streets of a-Khalil. Mohammed invited the group then (for a small fee) into his house for lunch - even vegetarian options were provided.
After lunch we said farewell to Mohammed, crossed the check point back to the Israeli part of Hebron, where Eliyahu was waiting for us. He took us not only to the Israeli side of Tomb of the Patriarchs, but later also on an extensive walk through the Israeli side of the town, passing several hundred years old olive trees, and the tombs of Yishai (Jesse, father of the later King David), and the tomb of Ruth (the woman from the biblical book of Ruth), passing an ancient synagogue as well.
I would like to mention this, because of course we've learned a lot about both the Jewish as well as the Palestinian narrative of the entire conflict, (and as promised by Eliyahu before, more questions than answers left after the trip). But the tour was not only about politics, but also about significant evidence of thousands-of-years old Jewish presence and heritage in Hebron, which cannot be denied.

Because this tour was so full of impressions and informations, we will try to re-do this tour on a future Israel trip once more - and meanwhile recommend it to others.

Thank you for your kind words! This dual narrative tour allows for incredible insight into Hebron - one of the most conflicted cities in Israel!

I found Eliyahu's tour very informative and inspiring. It really out the situation into perspective and gave me a sense of both sides of the Israeli Palestinian conflict. A very valuable experience, I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to understand the complexity and the confusion of this Middle East conflict.

This was supposed to be a dual narrative tor of Hebron.
The Israeli guide was an apologist, so convinced that peace could be reached that he never mentioned any Arab terrorism against jews that had happened in the area- not even the 1929 massacre.
The Palestinian guide was not convinced that anybody was buried in the Tomb of The Forefathers because he had never seen the bodies. For him, the Tomb was only there so that he could tell us about murder Goldstiin and how the Israeli soldiers went into the hospitals to kill those injured after him. He also produced a very convincing 17 year old boy, who spoke in English, to tell how the soldiers had kicked his mother to death in the curfew imposed (the Goldstiin incident was in the 1990s but the boy who gave graphic details was only 17 and could not have been born at the time) The guide was contemptuous of the authorities. He can't trust the "BLO" or Hamas and the Israeli "sittlers" throw molatov cocktails at the shook traders. His tribe, the Hussaini's, are the only ones who can protect him.
(I discovered the Palestinians can even pronounce the word and call themselves "Balastinians".- yet he says they are the authentic owners of the land since biblical times of the Philistines)
But the tour was great to hear both sides. The Palestinian guide was totally ignorant on anything historical or cultural, and only gave a political narrative. He blamed the Israelis for the shook (in the old city) having lots of empty stalls, although the newer part of the shook was fully occupied. We never went into Hebron proper, which seems to be big, with lot of tall buildings and quite prosperous. We just had to accept that Hebron was poor and being oppressed because of the soldiers and the sittlers. All the Palestinian guide did was to give a vicious, but entertaining, diatribe against the Israelis and the sittlers.
The Israeli guide was laid back and informative. He wanted to give explanations unlike his counterpart who threw short, sharp, catchy anti sittler allegations without back-up
Having been on the tour I now have an better idea why the Palestinians will never make peace with the Israelis. Duel on! Tribalism rules!
Take the tour, its great - but be skeptical of what appears to be informative and convincing views and "facts"
