We had such a wonderful time with Pete doing the Mt Hood and Gorge Tour, we booked the coast trip also. Pete is knowledgeable, informative, showed and taught us many things we didn’t know . Highly recommend Pete and his company

Amazing tour! Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and made the journey go so quickly. The sites you visit are absolutely breathtaking. There is a lot packed in to the day which is fantastic when you are only in Portland for a short time. Thank you so much for the fantastic day!

What a great way to get out of Portland for a day! Peter gave us a great tour with a lot of interesting state history ranging from geologic to ecologic to human based. The route is really wonderful and we had great weather so we saw Mt. Hood and a lot of other volcanoes in the Cascades range.
I would definitely recommend booking, this was an awesome experience!

Saturday morning 8:45am Peter from Oregon Tour Co picked us up from our hotel
He kept up an excellent running commentary on the geography of the Columbia River Gorge from Portland
Stops at headline waterfalls
Peter allowed all the time we needed for photos and videos
A major reason we chose this tour over self-drive was to relieve us from the burden of finding eight or nine parking spots
By 11:30 am the wisdom of this was very evident
Did you know that even if you find a park at Multnomah Falls, you are not allowed to walk into the precinct without a timed-entry permit? But when you are brought by a tour, it’s just walk right in
We gleaned so much insight into the geology but i seem to have exceeded the review size limit
Eleven out of ten to Pete and Oregon Tour Co

The Mt. Hood tour was perfect! Peter was very informative and welcoming, and we learned a lot throughout the day. The tour was very professional and he knows about all kinds of aspects of the Oregon area. The tour is very worth ones time! There were some light walks/hikes at some points we stopped at and he was very accommodating, so I'm sure the experience can be great for anyone. We took the Coast Tour the next day with him and it was also superb!

Highly recommend! Peter was knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. Great host. Beautiful scenery at a relaxed pace. Can’t recommend this tour strongly enough.

We had a great time on the Mt. Hood/Columbia River Gorge waterfall loop tour with our guide, Peter. To our surprise, my husband and I ended up on a private tour. Peter made sure we had a great experience and passionately shared his knowledge of the area. He provided well-researched narration throughout the drive, helping us to gain a real understanding of Portland and Oregon as a whole, not just the destinations we were visiting. The tour itself was full of breathtaking locations and fascinating history with plenty of opportunities for photos. We really appreciated that Oregon Tour Co. was still willing to run a full-day tour with only two participants. Many other companies would cancel in such a situation. You can tell Peter enjoys sharing his love of Portland and the surrounding areas, no matter how small the group. He makes sure to give his all on each and every tour without cutting corners. We would definitely recommend Oregon Tour Co. to others visiting the area and would be interested in taking one of the other tours they offer if we return to Portland.

Peter's knowledge and passion for Oregon is unmatched! His attention to detail and hospitality was superb. No question went unanswered while having a BLAST with my family visiting. Thank you for helping create amazing memories! Already looking forward to my next Oregon Tour Co experience!!

We highly recommend Oregon Tour Company! We requested a private tour for four with specific sites, including the Columbia River Gorge and the incredible Multnomah Falls and others along the drive, lunch in cute Hood River, then Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. Pete and Peter Woodburn, father and son, put together the perfect 6-hour trip with Peter driving and showing off everything of interest or beauty along the way, while explaining interesting history and details that I’d never known, even after 25 years of living in Portland. The duo trace their family back to the Oregon Trail era, and their love of the area, knowledge, and enthusiasm really make the tour a special day, to be a great memory.

Our best day in Portland...by far!! We were lucky enough to take this tour on a "Chamber of Commerce" day, sunny and 80 degrees, but I would have done this tour in the pouring rain. First, our tour guide Peter was absolutely outstanding. With a voice that should be on the radio, Peter was an absolute wealth of knowledge throughout the tour. I believe he is a 5th generation Oregonian whose family traveled out here on the Oregon Trail... so he knows his stuff! From citing the height of every Mountain Peak in the Cascades, to geography, botany, wildlife, commerce, and of course history, there didn't seem to be a topic he was not well versed. My wife and I learned so much about about Portland and the surrounding area.
But you simply can't beat the scenery on this trip. From scenic overlooks of the Columbia River, traveling through a rainforest, one spectacular waterfall after another and of course stunning views from Mt. Hood... Wow. Quite honestly after arriving in downtown Portland, we weren't sure why anyone would live there, but once you get out of the city it's not hard to see why with all of this amazing scenery and beauty.
We stopped in Hood River, a quaint little city near the base of Mt Hood, before traveling through some orchards (and a quick pit stop at a Cider farm) before ascending Mt. Hood. After a visit to the Ridgeline Lodge, it was sadly back home, but truly a day filled with great company, spectacular views and great memories. I can't recommend this tour enough... do yourself a favor and take it! Thank you Peter and Oregon Tour Company.
