A wee gem. What a great place. The building is located right inside the harbour and it is interesting to observe the work of the boats all around. Well worth a visit because there is so much to be seen in the museum. Extraordinary staff, so friendly and welcoming, I definitely recommend it.

Really nice museum,situated by harbour lots of maritime history to be seen,staff really friendly and helpful.gift shop on site to.

Marvellous Museum. Very informative of all things Maritime laid out in a very flowing manner to peruse and digest. Staff very approachable and informative. Last tours at 4.30pm closes 5.30pm.

It is an unassuming building that is home to a treasure trove of maritime history. The planetarium is a very informative presentation. Would throughly recommend a visit. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

The test for any Museum is if you have enough time to sea read everything, we will have to call again. The stories and history within this building were fascinating. The Virtual Reality display was really good. Another gem on the Wild Atlantic Way.

we are two historians and the husband of one and three of us visited the Museum and were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant. The historian, Seamus, could not have been more helpful looking for Coast Guard material of us for mid-nineteenth century. It was great. Many thanks.

What a great place. Well worth a visit and I was very surprised how much was in the museum. And the staff were so friendly and welcoming, I would definitely go again and couldn’t recommend it enough.

So much information on the history of this seafaring area , detailing the times from the Spanish Armada wrecks to the present day.. The circular stone monument outside with it's plaques naming the fishermen who have drowned to feed us id humbling and a reminder of the supreme power of the ocean which surrounds us.

My Grandson and I on a recent trip to N.I took the car ferry from Magilligan across the Foyle to Greencastle in Co Donegal, this not only a most enjoyable, scenic, efficient and friendly service, but an opportunity for both a History and Geography lesson for my young teen companion. Arriving in Greencastle we watched the ferry depart and whiled away some time watching the comings and goings of the small harbour then headed for the Maratime Museum which overlooks this most scenic of spots.
Lots of free parking to the front of Museum, and my thoughts were "half an hour here, if I'm lucky", well, how wrong I was! We were welcomed by the kindest of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. We had a visit to the Planetarium where we sat back in the most comfortable pullman-type seats for the 20 minute experience and, being a teenager, the Virtual Reality area was next on my Grandsons list. Here again, with two different options, he spent 10 or 15 minutes on each having been aided in the setting up by our lovely lady from the front desk. After all the "technology" had been experienced, we commenced viewing all the maritime displays, such a comprehensive collection, wonderfully curated and, interesting beyond words. This visit, was definitely a highlight of our trip over to Donegal and I'm so glad we made it.....Professional, Very High Standard Exhibition but, with the genuine friendliness and kindness of the Donegal Staff. Thank You All, and I shall be back....with the next grandchild "on the list" perhaps, next year.
Oh a little extra tip...if weather good, bring a puckniccand drive 15 mins North to the little beach near the lighthouse....I'm sure staff in Museum will give you its name as, I've forgotten, but, geographically, you really are "at the furthest tip of Ireland".

Lovely little museum housing lots of historical artifacts and some excellent models. Friendly informative staff and lots of information regarding the wrecking of the Spanish Armada. Don’t miss it
