Don't ever book to see santa at Milton Keynes Museum as I booked for 2 adults and 1 child paid £34 to drive half an hour there to be told we only paid for the museum and not santa when it wasn't clear on the website. We wasn't the only family that had the same issue it was not clear on the website you had to pay for the museum and santa separately. Having a child with special needs and trying to tell her you couldn't see santa was a horrible experience and i hope many families don't have the same problem we did. Absolute joke!!

Some museums can be a bit formal. This one is anything but. The best museum of it's type we have ever been to.
Extremely interesting exhibits covering a wide range of topics all hands on and suitable for all ages. It is really interesting and there are a number of volunteers who are very knowledgeable and keen to explain matters. It is just so good.
You should allow around three hours or even more to get the benefits.

Was not sure what to expect, but this museum exceeded our expectations.
All the volunteers we came across were so friendly and just wanted to impart their knowledge on everything that they knew, we spent ages in one room firstly listening to one lady explaining to a little girl how phones worked, then a gentleman took us under his wing and showed us an old telephone exchange which we chatted to each other via a telephone across the room, there was a 999 call unit that we used.
In the farm was another delightful man planting some seeds, he encouraged us to try a grape or two off of the vine, they were so sweet, he told us of the bomb shelter, and the outside loos.
We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours here, plenty of free parking

Me and my partner went there for day out and we had the volunteers giving us information that we never knew about the area. Also in the phone section we were showed how telegrams worked and old and new phones. Great experience overall for everyone of every age! Worth going too and you can spend quite a few hours there!

It’s a little hidden gem in Milton Keynes! We had a lovely afternoon here. Such an interesting, hands on museum. The volunteers are brilliant and engage with kids and adults about lots of the exhibits. Our children really enjoyed all parts of the museum, we couldn’t get them out of the telephone section! Nice little cafe too.
We will definitely be back :-)

Having just discovered this fantastic museum via a Google search I was not disappointed. Each area of the museum is so hands on and there is lots to see and do for all ages... the volunteers are very informative and clearly love being there. I had a fantastic time being shown around the telephone ☎️ communications area. I loved the old fashioned street with interactive telephones and nothing was in glass or out of sight. The transport area is a little cramped but is full of wonderful vehicles. I spent around 3hrs at the museum and would visit again in the future if I am in the area on Holiday. I would definitely recommend this museum to all my friends. Thanks for a fabulous day out.

Great experience for children and a reminder to the rest of us for times gone by. Cafe was good with great home baked cakes. Would like to see more selection of children’s food options as felt it was limited especially when they don’t eat sandwiches. Fantastic customer service from volunteers who were passionate about what they do. Great value for money.

Fabulous museum, with many things to see.
The staff are fantastic, very polite and knowledgeable, and what I loved most was that there are a lot of interactive items where you can have a go.
A superb day out, we were there for 4 hours and could easily have done another 4 hours as there is so much to see and learn about.

Parking is plentiful and feee only time we have problems is at our big weekend events when we use an overspill 490m walk away. It can take 2-4 hours to go around, depending on how engaged you are! And yes, there's a cafe serving drinks, homemade cakes and sandwiches.

Would this interest a 12 and 15 year old???

If they have an interest in history then it would. All the displays are interactive, and I think the telephone room would be a favourite.

can i yake 8 month old baby?

Yes, but as other people have said, some spaces would be a bit tight for a large buggy. Maybe a baby carrier would be easier if you have one? They have changing facilities so you should be well catered for :)

Is it cold in the museum will we need coats?
Sonya J

Hi, I would take coats as there are large areas inside and i can't remember what the temperature was like but I'm sure there must be heating. There are various buildings, so you'll be going outside to get to them, so its best to wrap up warm anyway if its a cold day.
Hope that helps, its well worth a visit.
