Lovely forest walks, with a reconstructed stone house, and an iron age circle to look at on the way. Hilly, and so not suitable for some, but decent paths and good signage.
Parking needs to be paid for (£1 for an hour, £3.50 all day), which seemed a bit unnecessary

Lovely forest walks, clearly sign posted. Composting toilets which were fine in Feb but I imagine would get a bit pongy in summer with the heat. Only reason I took marks off was the parking, we went out of season so there was plenty but there was no ticket machine just signs for a web based company which was fine...if you got a signal up there which you don't.

A lovely Forest with good trails for walking. There are two waymarked walks to pick from or you can just have a wander. It was very quiet when we visited and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

A lovely set of two forest walks a short drive from Pitlochry. Go past the Queen's View Visitor centre ( nice stop for tea and loos!) and there is a car park on the right. Two easy to follow trails, and the view near the old (poss 2000 year old) fort is amazing. Also nice picnic tables .

Found this walk when staying at tummel valley and decided to drive along one day.
Free parking and 2 trails both signposted. We did them both in around 2 hours.
Trails easily signposted although quite steep in places. Lovely views, free parking, toilets and picnic area.

With some lovely views and interesting Pictish and Black House ruins, Allean Forest makes for a lovely walk. It’s not too strenuous and takes roughly an hour or so (depending on what route you take) and so is suitable for less able walkers. There’s also loads of parking available. Would highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I did the red walk, it was clearly sign posted and we used Walk Highlands website for specific instructions and they were perfect!
One of the best walks I’ve ever done, it helped that the weather was perfect. Honestly felt like I was in a fairytale with the beautiful views and green trail.
The walk was moderate but trainers are essential.
Had a few stops for the fort ring and house which was really interesting.
Defo recommend!! Highlight of the weekend!

We took our three children (Age 10, 8 and 5 years old) on this walk on a snowy February morning. It was super!!
We parked in the Allean Carpark (free and well signed) and set off on foot. The walk was very clearly signposted from the start, and also the entire way around - In fact our 5-year-old loved looking out for the next post to show us the way.
We opted for the longer walk (suggested 1.5 hours, which it took no longer, including doing a little bit of sledging en route!) and completed it with no trouble at all, despite there being lots of snow and ice around.
It was a very beautiful walk amongst the Scottish trees and wildlife. We also really enjoyed the information along the way relating to help people thousands of years ago had lived within the forest area.
There was a small building near to where we parked, with three toilets (eco-), which was a real help when at the start of the walk one of the group announced that they needed the toilet! Complete bonus that there was toilet paper and hand gel inside.
If you get a couple of hours free, whilst in this neck of the woods, I cannot recommend this enough. It certainly isn’t suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs, but anyone who is physically capable of walking will be able to access this with no trouble at all. I would recommend walking boots/wellies in cold/wet weather, but certainly no specialist equipment required.
Enjoy!!

We underestimated the hike, starting out in late afternoon, forgetting how quickly the sun sets in November but the hike was a delight and the crofter's house was fun to explore, We made it back just fine and appreciated the walk markers -- very helpful.
