We found this company on the Internet (thank you Google!) and send our request regarding two days wine tours (based on their information provided on their website). Soon got a reply from Stefano and Manuela with the answer that all options are possible (and it was true! Really!)

After some interactions we made our final choice. We selected first day - Roero and Barbaresco (one winery in the first part of the day, then lunch in an interesting restaurant and second winery in the afternoon; during the day, while driving, we were visiting beautiful historical places and picturesque spots; during second day we were visiting Barolo, that has 11 villages, but even if we did not manage to visit all of them, we explored the best ones. And we visited two wineries and had a lunch in one more exciting restaurant.

All four wineries during these two days were relatively small and family run. In every winery we were greated by the family member that was talking not only about the wine, but about the family, it's history and many more interesting details. Each visit to the winery was like visiting your old good friends!

Special thanks we want to express to our guide Saverio, who was taking care of us from very morning by picking us at our accommodation and sharing his vast knowledge about the region, history, culture, local habits, wine, food and many more topics during the whole day. Anything we were asking, he new the answers! And he was fluent in English. We enriched our knowledge about Piedmont a lot thanks to Saverio

We highly recommend the "Italy wine tour- Alba office"/"Piedmont wine tour" company and especially our guide Saverio!

Certamente recomendamos o passeio!

Five stars does not do this experience any justice. As for our tour guide Saverio, stars are not enough, as he went over and beyond in terms of service, friendliness, knowledge and provided an experience that will never be forgotten. What a gent and a truly genuine human being.
I like a glass of red wine with a bit of body and would normally go for a Pinot Noir, Chianti, Syrah or a Shiraz. A bottle of Barolo is normally kept for a special occasion. The last bottle of Barolo on my wine rack stayed there for ten years! When I found out my other half had planned a trip to Turin for my 50th birthday, I thought I would have a look around to see if there where any experiences worth a try. I had the first three days booked and left day four blank, until I looked at Turins location and noticed it was near the Barolo region. As the saying goes, “When in Rome”.
I have previously done distillery tours all over Ireland and Scotland including Bushmills in Co Antrim, the oldest distillery in the world, beer Breweries, including Erdinger, Schneider Weisse and Weihenstephan in Freising, the oldest Brewery in the world. I have also visited cantinas in France, Germany, Portugal and Italy, but this experience was a day out I will never forget, thanks to our tour guide Saverio.
Saverio picked us up from the Asti train station early and on our way we passed the Campari factory, the Fererro factory, the Nutella factory and the Pernot factory. Throughout our initial journey, Saverio gave us a breakdown of the crops grown in the area and explained the history of the region in an entertaining manner.
We where taken to three different Cantinas and sampled a lot of White and red wines. Our first two Cantinas where family owned and very much off the beaten track. It is great to go to a cantina owned by generations of a family that have a great pride in the growing, fermentation and tasting of their products.
We visited many small towns including Rodi, Barbaresco, Barolo, Serralunga D’Alba, La Morra and had an outstanding lunch at the Langotto Restaurant in Novello.
Saverio is a very calm and careful driver. He knows a lot about wine in the region, the various grapes grown in the region and the villages in the region. At no point in the day did we ever feel rushed and Saverio stopped off at several scenic routes and buildings to add to our days enjoyment and also took a few photos as a memory of our day out.
Not only will you try several variations of Barolo, you will also be introduced to Barberesco, Dolcetta, Piedmonts most underrated red wine and a few other variety’s made in the local Cantina’s. There is so much tasting on this tour, so pace yourself and ensure you have a good balance of water. We skipped having any wine with our lunch as we had already tasted so much! This is a full day of tasting and I was so glad my taste buds where still working because my final sample of a more mature Barbaresco was outstanding.
This tour is value for money, as you have a tour guide that really knows the area and has a wealth of local knowledge. Its was great to have a day of sampling, culture and history of the Barolo region while being looked after, under a very safe pair of hands and a character who is a true local. Saverio made this experience a very relaxing and memorable day out and one that I will not forget easily. Avoid the big commercial tour companies and choose a day out that will provide memories for a lifetime with local tour guides. A big massive thank you to our guide Saverio, that made this experience, one to never forget.

Absolutely loved our 2-day tour with Stefano! He is so knowledgeable about all the wine and area as he is from there. The wineries are smaller and high quality so you're in for a treat when you visit. Plus Stefano has all kinds of great food recommendations for Alba too.

I don’t have much to add here except that this is absolutely a 5 star business. I know about wine and have been on many wine tours. I find it a great way to learn about the local people, traditions, food, and of course WINE. Stefano is a local guy who knows everyone. He and his wife, Manuela were very accommodating. This was a segment of a European trip for my wife and I celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We are so thankful we found Stefano. We toured with some delightful people (small group of 6 total) for 2 days and had a fantastic wine experience focused on the smaller more traditional wineries. Great lunches both days including lunch on one day at a Michelin rated restaurant which was CLOSED except for our table of 6! Also worth mentioning is how Stefano incorporates the history of the region and the traditions. We learned so much from him. Very cool guy. Thank you so much Stefano (and Manuela)!!!

Stefano was a wonderful guide who took us to multiple boutique wine producers who have achieved sterling reputations and ratings in the Barbersca and Roero fields.

Stefano and Manuela are great people and very knowledgeable about the wines of piemonte. Stefano is very accommodating and well informed about all the wines in the region and could honestly do the tours himself. He knows the difference between all the wines and can recommend wines to fit your tastes perfectly. The tour is very comfortable, Stefano and Manuela will pick you up from your hotel or the Asti train staton and drive you around to areas you could never reach on your own. They organize a place for lunch for you and take you back to your hotel or the station. Best part of the trip for sure!

My wife and I contacted Stefano just a month before our recent trip to Piemonte. It was late March, and many wineries were busy preparing for the upcoming season.

Despite these challenges, Stefano crafted a thrilling 3-day private tour through the various Nebbiolo-based DOCG's (e. g., Barolo, Barbaresco, etc.), Dolcetto, Barbera (d'Alba and d'Asti), Arneis, and several lesser-known varietals. He is a Piemonte native, with extensive contacts in the area that give him the knowledge, insight, and access to the finest and most intimate properties throughout the Langhe. He led us through some of the most beautiful hills and valleys, touring wineries, meeting winemakers, and sampling wines that casual visitors will never experience.

I am confident we made the right decision in choosing Alba Wine Tours to lead us through this very personal view of a great wine region. It was a memorable 3-day experience that we will never forget.

Bypass the big commercial tours. A day (or more) touring with Stefano will provide memories for a lifetime.
