We really enjoyed our Night Fishing adventure. Bundy and family were welcoming, encouraging and Bundy was generous in the way he shared his cultural knowledge. We learned so much and loved everything about our evening.

It was such an immersive experience, it was fun, educational and really brilliant. Searching for mud crabs, spear fishing, Bundy was always encouraging us to give everything a go. In our group we caught 4 mud crabs and Bundy cooked them, talked to them. The sweet lip caught by Bundy’s son was delicious and cooked on the open fire. All remarkable, he is a beautiful gentle intelligent man who cares deeply for his people and country. We all have a lot to learn from Bundy.

Bundy will take you through Kooljaman teaching you about all the flora and fauna and how Aboriginals used this knowledge to live on the land. Bundy is a passionate tour guide with an insane amount of knowledge he's willing to impart on people that are interested. Highly recommend.

We decided to visit Cape Leveque after I read about Bundy's tour. I wanted our teenagers to learn and experience more about Australia's aboriginal heritage. We did the spear fishing tour during school holidays when there were more than 20 people on it - which was too many for the type of activity. Unfortunately that meant that it was difficult to hear the softly spoken Bundy. Whilst he shared with us traditional hunting methods and we enjoyed forraging for food in the mangroves and looking for opportunities to spear fish, there wasn't the sort of insight that we had hoped would be offered during the tour (and which I have had on other tours with aboriginal guides). To get the most from Bundy, we found you need to ask questions and be close to him to hear his answers, both of which are challenging with a large group. This was still a wonderful experience driving in our four wheel drive in convoy along beaches and exploring mangroves that we would not have dared visit without a guide. It would be even better if the group was smaller and Bundy were comfortable to share more of his culture. [Note that the tour does not meet at Kooljman, but at Bundy's town about a 15 minute drive away (you book through Kooljman, but the staff at Kooljman didn't tell us the meeting place was a drive away until we went expecting to meet at Kooljman reception). Also check that you receive email confirmation of your booking as Kooljman lost my original booking made months before our trip.]

Simply a most amazing day had by all. Walking through the mangroves, spearing for fish, crabbing, line fishing and cooking our catch. Bundy is generous with his time. His knowledge of his land and people is inspiring. Bundy's cultural tour is a must!

Thank you so much Bundy. We have learned so much from your tour and hope that when you are not able to tell the Bardi stories that they will still be told.
The added company of "red dog" was also awesome, thats what we named him. This was a local dog who decided to follow us on our tour running along side the car for the whole trip.

My girlfriend and I were excited to go on this cultural tour. Unfortunately, without going into specifics. Bundy seemed to come across as condescending and unfriendly :(

The tour info's highlight was a dreamtime story which was good. But if you want to save some money, read the plaques yourself, rather than have bundy read them for you. Maybe he had a bad night before....? Not worth it.

What a shame you didn't enjoy the experience. Perhaps you were misreading respect - no eye to eye contact, looking away, or down as unfriendly. I'm sure Bundy would not have intended to be in any way condescending. Bundy has amazing insight and practical knowledge of all the Bardi bush tucker and medicine plants. I'm sorry you didn't have the experience you were after, perhaps there were some cultural issues in the communication. Thank you for your review, Erica

My grandson and I spent an afternoon with others learning about bush tucker at Kooljaman followed by a morning of a personalised Spear Making/Using tour close to Bundy's community (Djarindjin) on the tip of Cape Leveque.
The local mud crabs and mangrove oysters cooked on heated coals is something not to be missed.
Bundy is a very quiet and reserved person but is a great wealth of knowledge. His tours are exceptional value which centre around indigenous culture, local history as well as proof indigenous people lived on this land for thousands of years. After spending the morning hunting for food Bundy showed us imbedded footprints on a rock ledge which just adds to the validation. It is a reality check to just see this with your own eyes.
If you ever get an opportunity to get to the tip of the Dampier Peninsula Bundy's Tours are a must see and do experience.

To be honest, we had tried to get into Brian's tour (he is Bundy's nephew but better known tour guide in the area) but it was booked out so we chose Bundy's instead. SO glad we did because as far as tours go, this was one of the best we've done during our 5mths on the road travelling Australia. Bundy is not a warm, bubbly tour guide, that's not his thing. But he was very willing to share his indigenous culture with visitors and it was a jam packed tour. We learned how to make spears (and fish with them), find drinking water in the bush, tell whether the tide is coming in or out, hunt for mud crabs and cook them on the mangrove wood coals (added flavour - YUM), read signs from local bird life, and we learned about native title and certain aspects of indigenous tribal law. Fascinating from start to finish. Best money we've spent and our 10yo kids absorbed everything along the way. Highly recommended.
