We only had 3 and a half days due to our flight schedule, but we wanted to explore the Nomadic family home, staying.
There aren’t many companies that offer our desire ( fair enough! A 1night 2days trip isn’t enough to see their life or beautiful Mongolian nature), but Ellie, the tour conductor Binderiya, the tour guide and driver (sorry, we don’t know how to spell his name) made this happen!
…The road trip was wild and bumpy, beautiful views with Mongolian music from driver’s playlist ( -yes, we sang the Genghis Khan song! Yay!)
…Homestay was cool, we get to see and live a bit of their life. If you wish, family will teach you how to make Mongolian dumplings.
Our trip was end of Oct and even with stove it was too cold for us as tropical climate citizen, but they prepared sleeping bags for us just in case and it saved our night.
…Binderiya, our lovely guide is not only knowledgeable but happy to share her childhood stories. We could explore various Mongolian family’s choice of living in modern society with willingness to keep their traditions.
The only sad part was we couldn’t visit the Kazaf family after 1night stay with the Mongolian family to compare the differences of their culture.
The family who we were supposed to visit got an urgent family thing that day, but it tells you that they aren't a ‘set up family’ pretending as if they were a nomadic family.
It was unlucky for us but we visit War Memorial Tower where we could see the Ulanbatoor city view.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!
