Cat was our driver throughout our one week stay in Siem Reap and was a bonus to our experience. He was always prompt and professional driving us safely to temples and to restaurants. Cat was knowledgeable, had an excellent command of English, and was always personable.

Kat provided a superb service. Easy to contact via whatsapp he organises the tour that you want. Especially the schedule of the temple visits is against the big tourism mass so that you can enjoy the temples mostly less crowded. I went with his brother which was instructed by him and he did as well a great job. You feel safe and can enjoy your stay to the fullest. During the day an earlier finish of the tour was as well no problem. Use as well the airport transfer - nice road with beautiful view.

Kat was my Tuk Tuk driver once again as I visited Siem Reap.
He has a great knowledge of the temples and the best itineraries to avoid the crushing crowds.
As always he is a completely safe and competent driver. Always punctual.
His English is great and he’s a very nice guy.

Mr. Kat is kind-hearted and very knowledgeable about the temples. He adjusted our itinerary based on what we need and he did not follow the usual route that's why we enjoyed some of the temples with less crowd. He also charged us fairly so we ended-up giving him a good tip because we honestly thought he deserved more. All in all, we had a great one-day private tour Angkor Wat experience and I would definitely recommend him to my friends who will visit Siem Reap.

While researching Angkor Wat and Siem Reap, I came across a reddit thread and the listing here in Trip Advisor recommending Mr Kat as a driver/ tour guide, and I am glad I gave Mr Kat a chance because he was excellent and fantastic. I contacted him via Whatsapp, and he actually told me that he was already booked on our preferred date and the days after it, and that he would be happy to recommend other drivers. But, fortunately, the said booking was by one of his long term clients and Mr Kat said that he would check with his client first if he could accommodate us for one day while sending his brother in his stead, and the client agreed (thanks so much to him!)
Communications wise, Mr Kat was transparent about his pricing, and recommended a great itinerary. Even though he already went out of his way to accommodate us on our preferred date, he advised me that I should thoroughly discuss the itinerary and charges with my friends first before we confirm our booking with him. I confirmed our booking a week after, and we ended up going for small circuit tour plus sunrise.
On the day of the tour, Mr Kat was very prompt in arriving at our hotel and we got a good spot in Angkor Wat. Mr Kat has provided history and so much details, not only for Angkor Wat but for the other temples as circumstances allowed. Please note that there are official guides within the temples, and for some ,Mr Kat was not able to join us in our tour because he was technically a “driver” and not a tour guide (do not let this be a reason to not hire him!!!) but he provided information to us prior entering the temples. Upon finishing each temple, Mr Kat was always ready with cold drinks (water/ soft drinks) and the best cold menthol laced towels which were super cooling and comforting during the heat. He brought us to good restaurants and was very flexible when we requested that we eat breakfast first after the Angkor Wat sunrise instead of going to Ta Phrom City directly. This is also the case when requested taking a longer lunch before heading to Angkor Wat complex again while providing us advice on when we should go back in time for our sunset tour.
Thank you so much to Mr Kat for making our one day Angkor Wat tour so much enjoyable. We are a group of four friends and I still think that the service he provided was worth more than what he charged especially with how he was so generous with the bottled waters (we added tip because he deserved it, and hope you will do it as well). I will absolutely book Mr Kat again if ever we come back in Siem Reap and recommend him to my friends as well. :)

Short version: Just stop looking - you have found the perfect Tuk Tuk driver for your Siem Reap trip! Transparent, reliable, flexible and very very knowledgeable about the temples and general Cambodia history. He also has the best fresh minty towels, which are honestly life savers considering the heat! Mr Kat deserves more than 5 stars!
Long version:
I contacted Mr Kat and a few other Tuk Tuk drivers around 2 months before our trip for a 3 day service (2 day temple visit + 1 day floating village). From the start, he was definitely the most transparent about pricing, proposing a detailed itinerary based on our goals and explicitly mentioning his standard prices as well as the extras (e.g. sunrise). I had other Tuk Tuks that even proposed different prices when contacted by me and my boyfriend for the same itinerary… makes you feel like you are being ripped off! Mr Kat was anything but that - always very transparent, and his prices are average based on the many estimates I got. Furthermore, he was the only driver that left us at ease, saying basically, “you still have time to decide, look at the itinerary with your boyfriend and let me know once you are ready, no rush”. Most of the other Tuk Tuks were the opposite, pressuring us to make a decision “as soon as possible”. He was also very available to answer all our questions and doubts so we could prepare our trip in the best way possible. All of these reasons led us to choose Mr Kat, and I am sure if you contact a few Tuk Tuk drivers you will notice this difference too!
And it did not disappoint! First day he picked us up for sunrise and we get literally the best sunrise spots as we were among the first to arrive. His proposed itinerary was amazing and really helped us avoid the crowds in most temples (especially Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat, made us wonder where all the tourists were!). He was flexible to adjust the itinerary as we went, too. He knew A LOT about the temples and Cambodia in general (just be aware that he is officially not a guide, so he cannot go into the temples with you. However, he will give you all the history, must sees and photo spots tips before you enter each temple). After each temple visit, he was ready to meet us with fresh water or soft drinks of your choice and the most life-saving minty fresh towels. He is super friendly, and was always making sure we were comfortable.
Overall, can’t recommend Mr Kat enough. Just do yourself a favor and contact him already!

While doing our research about Angkor Wat, we came across several recommended tuk tuk drivers. Eventually we send our proposed itinerary to two of them and Mr. Kat immediately stood out.
From the start he proposed us with an amended itinerary, which included our wishes but also added some extras and made sure we would be able to visit each temple when they were least crowded. He took lots of initiative, which we liked, and recommended his brother Mr. San when he was unavailable when we decided to do the sunset the day before our proposed itinerary.
The first day Mr. Kat arrived right on time to bring us to the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Once we arrived, he immediately hurried towards the sunrise spot. He went so fast, we even struggled to catch up. After that he scouted all of the possible angles, to make sure we really had the best spot.
From the very start, Mr. Kat promptly explained all we needed to know about each and every temple, suggesting photo ops and even going with us a few times to make sure we didn't miss a thing.
After each and every temple he stood there waiting with ice cold drinks and fresh towels to unburden us from the moist heat.
In short, if you're looking for a tuk tuk driver to show you around Angkor Wat, Mr. Kat is your man! Actually, he is your tuk tuk driver and tour guide in one!

I’ll start with the one and only thing that could be better, because Mr Kat is excellent in every other way! While on the tour, he usually can’t enter the temples with tourists because he isn’t hired by a tour company. Apparently this was a recent development initiated by the official tour guides. Despite this, Mr Kat told me what the keys to see in each place were and even the efficient way to walk the temple. He has a lot of knowledge (he is self taught) and communities in English well.
That’s it, otherwise I had a very good experience with Mr Kat. I did the grand circuit for day 1 and the small circuit for day 2. In total we saw 18-20 temples/locations!
Mr Kat was flexible in shaping the itinerary depending on the conditions e.g. traffic (it was Cambodia public holiday in October) and what I wanted to see more/spend more time at, which saved time traveling and more time for seeing things.
He prepared plenty of cold water and cooling towels which was so nice to beat the heat and humidity. It even rained and he had an extra rain jacket for me and an umbrella.
If you’re not sure what to pack, you can ask him once you’ve booked the tour. If it’s rainy season (even partially) sandals and rain jacket are a life saver to walk in the rain.
Mr Kat is a really nice fellow and was very patient throughout. He was accommodating of my needs.
I would highly recommend Mr Kat for a private tour of Angkor Wat and its temples. His price is affordable and fair compared to other private tours. He is also a good person who takes care of his mother and nephews and your business will support them!

Thank you so very much for the review. It was my pleasure being your driver for your holidays. I am aware that most tourists to Siem Reap spend very limited time in our city so I try not to waste their time and get to places as quickly and efficiently as possible. Often time crowds can be avoided but no guarantees. I can only do my best and the rest is out of my control. Being such a hot country, I cannot stress enough how much we need to keep hydrated throughout the day. Sometime we do forget to drink water and that's when we run into trouble. Mr Kat was highly recommended by our friends who visited Siem Reap earlier this year and we are so pleased we also booked him for our one day trip into the Angkor Wat temples complex! We contacted him via Whatsapp; his responses were quick and he provided an in-depth overview of which temples we could visit and set out his (very reasonable) prices for his services.
We were picked up from our hotel in good time to watch sunrise over Angkor Wat from the perfect spot and spent the rest of the day visiting the different temples - being dropped off and picked up in his tuk tuk, with cold bottles of water and cold towels provided throughout! Mr Kat is very knowledgeable about the temples and knew which order to visit them for us to avoid the crowds. He kept asking us if we needed anything and was happy to tailor our day to what we wanted to see. We would highly recommend booking Mr Kat if you are visiting Siem Reap.

We spent three days touring Angkor temples with Mr. Kat and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Our experience with him was simply perfect. Not only is he a careful, honest and reliable driver, but he also is a kind and friendly person and one who is always ready to go the extra-mile to make sure you get the most out of your visit.
We contacted Mr. Kat following a friend’s recommendation and he replied promptly to all our queries. He drafted a fantastic itinerary which allowed us to avoid the crowds: we couldn’t believe how peaceful Angkor Wat was during our visit! He has a profound knowledge of the area and gave us some historic information before each temple visit, as well as useful tips on what to look for during our visit. This felt like the type of information you would get from a guide, but with the added advantage (at least for us) of being able to explore the temples on our own. He also gave us a lot of tips on the best spots to take pictures and he even helped us sort some problems we had when booking our bus to Phnom Penh.
All in all our experience with Mr. Kat was superb and we cannot recommend him high enough. We urge you to contact him to plan your visit to Siem Reap, you won’t be disappointed!
We contacted Mr. Kat following a friend’s recommendation and he replied promptly to all our queries. He drafted a fantastic itinerary which allowed us to avoid the crowds: we couldn’t believe how peaceful Angkor Wat was during our visit! He has a profound knowledge of the area and gave us some historic information before each temple visit, as well as useful tips on what to look for during our visit. This felt like the type of information you would get from a guide, but with the added advantage (at least for us) of being able to explore the temples on our own. He also gave us a lot of tips on the best spots to take pictures and he even helped us sort some problems we had when booking our bus to Phnom Penh.
All in all our experience with Mr. Kat was superb and we cannot recommend him high enough. We urge you to contact him to plan your visit to Siem Reap, you won’t be disappointed!
