Eski bir zeytinyağı imalathanesini müzeye dönüştürmüşler.
Görsenizde olur görmesenizde.

I have been a week in Mytilene and have fallen in love with the place. It is a beautiful port town with a cosmopolitan history where one feels totally safe and easy. The island has only been Greek since 1922 and has lots of rich "Captains' Houses", Ottoman mansions from the heady days of trading in the Mediterranean.

We have a little air B and B flat and so have shopped for food and had lovely encounters despite our lack of Greek. We asked for a single egg in a butchers and he gave it to us with a quizzical look -"No money" he said. Everyone is warm and welcoming but there is a sense of frustration at the way almost all the tourists are staying away because of press reportage about the refugee crisis. Last year there might have been a reason to stay away - tents everywhere, lack of sanitation etc. However now the island is functioning totally normally except lack of tourism is ruining a lot of the businesses that depend on it.
The gist of shop and cafe owners runs thus "We welcomed the refugees and now we are being punished by the European Union. It's not fair"
We've visited the beautiful Ottoman village of Ayassos, strolled amongst the wild flowers in deserted Mytiline castle, visited the excellent petrified forest museum in Sigri and eaten tomatoes so delicious they almost send you into a trance. If you are going to Greece Lesvos is not to be missed.
