Swimming with the manatees was awesome! We arrived, received a short presentation on the area and the manatees we would be swimming with, and the state laws on the privilege of swimming with the manatees. My friend had never snorkled before, so the were more than willing to work with her and make sure she was comfortable in the water. Dallas, our captain, and Ben, our guide, did an awesome job finding manateesfor us to observe and swim with -cwe were able to see 2 together and 2 others in different areas. Ben was also able to get wonderful pictures that we could purchase to remember our time in the river.
I would very highly recommend this company for your tour.

Great experience. Went to their Homosassa Springs location. Extremely friendly team and went to locations where there were plenty of manatees and no large crowds. Ended up with only 5 on the boat and great interaction with the captain.
Would absolutely go with the location again.

We did the Airboat tour as well as Swimming with the Manatees! Both tours were fabulous. Emerson and Lyndsey were great! They took us in the boat right to where the Manatees were. It was such an incredible and memorable experience. I definitely recommend this tour and ask for Emerson and Lyndsey! They were so knowledgeable and helpful and really made the experienced the best!
Captain Fish was our Captain on the Airboat tour. It was great! So much smoother than I expected. We got to see so much! Highly recommend this if you're in the area.

Our family of 5 (three adult children) had a wonderful experience snorkeling with the manatees! Our guide Melissa and Capt. Dave were so friendly and helpful with any questions we had through our trip. Spent about 1 1/2 hours in the water with several manatees - but especially one very adorable and curious baby manatee! He interacted with everyone in our group for a long time while his momma relaxed underneath us on the river bottom. So glad we took our GoPro along to capture this very unique experience! Everyone had a fabulous time and was well worth the price!

My Family of 10 and I joined captain Parker and his crew for a crazy wonderful day with the manatees. I was a little worried at first, since they only allowed 6 people per boat, but having 2 boats for our family was a great day. Captain Chris and CG were patient and extremely knowledgeable in finding the right manatees. This was a nice break from our daily lives. Having our own private boats was amazing and then to Swim with the manatees, with my family - Priceless!!!! Thank you so much, my kids have not stopped talking about the manatees

Thank you for your feedback. Yes we can accommodate larger groups than 6. 6 pack boat for passengers in an endorsement from the USCG that we have had for many of years. It works!!! The manatees love the smaller groups too. Thank you.

I was nervous at the start of the tour because we were told that it was the off-season (don't expect to see a lot of manatee) and we wouldn't be going to a certain area of clear water due to the tides and the boat not fitting under a bridge.
We were taken to a murky area (lots of vegetation for manatee to feed on). Within minutes, our captain and guide Alyssa showed their skills. They spotted signs of manatee right away and we were in the water. We saw several feeding. Visibility in the water was low and it was hard to see them unless they surfaced. Not gonna lie. I was feeling disappointed. But, wildlife doesn't follow our schedules and I was happy see what I could.
We had plenty of time left, so Alyssa and the captain loaded us back up to try for clearer waters. The captain saw "footprints" going into one of the springs. Wow! We found two manatee feeding in a clear freshwater spring. Majestic. Amazing. Gorgeous. Memories for a lifetime. So glad we booked this trip. So glad we had Alyssa with us. She was very patient and kind with our two kiddos. Thanks for the wonderful day!

Hi and thank you for your feedback.
Yes, most guest first perception is that manatees are in a certain area everyday. They are not, manatees are free roaming. Our captains and guides are among the best and absolutely love their manatee life. Also having the small groups (6 passengers or less) assures a better chance of a personal encounter with manatees. This is our specialty...
There is not a so called "Manatee Season" since we have successful tours everyday with our huge population of resident manatees. There is the seasonal "Great Manatee Migration" that happens from mid October to the end of April. So our success rate is 95% and above, plus we offer 2 locations (Habitats /River and Spring Systems) to raise the industry standards of just one spring system.
We encourage our future guest to trust us, we strive to provide you with the best, most magical adventure with the manatees that only exist in our county, Citrus County Florida. We are just a short deine from the Orlando and Tampa area.
Come on out and live with the manatees for a few hours.
Thank you again for your feedback

Enjoyed the trip. Getting into a wet suit is a experience in and into itself. The staff was friendly, helpful. The captain tried really hard to share the beauty of the gentle beast in a natural gorgeous setting. I do wish the establishment had had the under water cameras advertised. We would have been happy to have brought our own; but the website advised differently. All in all; a very worthwhile adventure. Even if we had to walk to the boat from the office.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Yes, we do have a nice short walk through the Historical Crystal River to board our boats. Very common with tour guides.
We apologize for not having Rental cameras available, since C-19, some small things have changed.
We do offer a photo package or purchasing a water proof casing for your phones to take underwater photos.
Thank you for visiting the manatees - this outdoor, fresh air, lots of Sun Drops adventure has become a must. The manatees really enjoy showing you their homes. Small groups has been our speciality for many of years and with this amongst other personal services helps us with a 98% success rate of manatee sightings all year. Fall time is coming and so are the migratory manatees.
Join us for the start of the GREAT MANATEE MIGRATION happening now.
See you soon

Booked 3 hour manatee and 1 hour airboat tour and was told on the phone by Gene Parker the owner, "oh you'll see manatees". FALSE! When we arrived at the address I wanted to buy some sunscreen there in the office but was talked out of it by a older heavy set man that said I wouldn't need it because I would be wearing a wetsuit and my hands are really the only things exposed so I decided against it. We watched a short video and was fitted for our wetsuits and was told by the same guy that we would have to drive ourselves to the dock due to construction that was going on (btw all this time cuts in to your 3 hour tour which really is a 2 hour tour). We arrived at the dock and Ken, our guide floated up in the boat. We started going out to where he said the manatees were and couldn't find any so he took us to another spot and another spot and another spot. Nothing. We finally saw ONE and it lingered a bit but by the time we got suited up and got in the water it has swam off. Total disappointment and not what was told on the phone or else we would have booked a different type of tour. Ken did take us to a couple other places that we not interested in because we were there for the manatees only. We did get sunburned because we weren't in the water and didn't have sunscreen since we were talked out of purchasing. FYI they use a different company for airboat tours called Redfish Charter and would highly suggest booking directly since Brian was able work with me for earlier airboat tour time and Gene wasn't helpful and rude about this request.
A weird thing about this tour was while we were on the boat, Ken our manatee guide Ken told me that him and his wife was the owner of the company. Found out later from Gene Parker that he is the owner and informed me that Ken is not. Customers don't like being lied to.

Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for information you might not have seen or read on our website when booking your manatee adventure. We do value your time with us, so I would like to be transparent about the information provided on our website and in my reply.
I am the owner of Snorkeling With Manatees. check us out on Sunbiz.org.. Ken and his wife own the Tour hub of where the tour boats are parked and located. 2 separate companies, one great team.
Length of tour?
Our most popular tour is 3 hours from start to finish. Make sure you have everything you need that is in your email confirmation. If not, then this could result in delayed departure times. Keep in mind we do have other families scheduled before and after your tour.
Manatee Sightings?
Yes we found manatees as stated in this review. NEVER a 100% guarantee but a 95% success rate is daily. How many Manatees will you see...? it is different everyday, every moment.
Even during the "Great Manatee Migration" (October - April) you could see 1 or a hundred. This is why having small groups is important.
Airboat Adventure
Yes I assist my good friend Captain Brian, from Redfish Charters with his amazing airboat rides. Keep in mind that other tours are booked before and after your tour , a scheduled departure time is important. We will try to accommodate a last minute request but other families maybe be involved and we can not meet your last minute request.
When making such a demand, it does take time to reach out to the captains to see if we can accommodate your request. We will make every attempt to meet your request if possible.
If your family has a special request, please let us know prior to your day of fun with the manatees. This will allow our team to adjust accordingly, so that your time with the manatees is maximised ...
I hope this helps our future and returning guest. We look forward to meeting you...

It was off season but Captain Anna was still able to find the footprint of a manatee. She had me hop in the river but it was hard to see. So we tried again a few more times. Finally we got to clear water and she had me hop in again. Success. It was right in front of me. He wanted only to eat, but it was amazing being right there. She went the extra mile to make sure I had a great experience. Thank you for a great adventure. I would go again in a heartbeat!

Does a 2 year old that will stay in the boat with an adult need a ticket? Also would an 8 year old ticket be the same admission price?
Escrita el 13 de marzo de 2018
Hi and thank you for your question. Yes the prices are the same for all riders, we do not charge for participation but the seats on the boat, USCG regulations.
It is up to each person of what they want to do, swim or snorkel, these are USCG (United States Coast Guard) regulations.
You may find several tour guides that offer discounts for kiddos however you will be on a boat of 10-15 passengers so the help you may get might be min.
Also if you are booking your tour based on discount you may not receive the tour you want. I have seen this happen so many times and that is why we limit our tours to 6 passengers max. I hope this helps

my daughter is coming the week of thanksgiving and wants to do this tour.. will it be cool enough for manatee? and will she have fun? what else can she do?

Interesting, as I read this question. The reply from XYZ sounds like a former employee. Yes November is the start of the Manatee Migration, a great time. Sorry for the delay reply as I just learned about this question. I hope this helps future guest. Our busy months are from Nov - May so an early booking for your tickets would be a huge asset for your manatee vacation. I hope this helps.

would the swimming be too challenging for a 5 and 6 year old?

During our snorkeling tours, we give everyone a pool noodle, regardless of age or swimming ability. So you don't even need to know how to swim, because you will be floating on the noodle. For ages 6 and under, we also provide life jackets.

I took this tour in January of this year and it was the experience of a lifetime! I'm so grateful to the staff for helping to make it so. I will be in the area again the week of May22nd and am thinking of doing it again but I'm concerned that most of the manatees in the area would've left for the Gulf by then. Would there still be some there to snorkel with?
Escrita el 20 de abril de 2017
Hello, thank you for your question. There are manatees here all year, you will not see as many as during the winter months, but we do tours all year, and we do see them. One thing we do offer a rain check, so that if for some reason we do not find manatees on the day of your tour, you may come back at any time. May is usually less "difficult" than the summer months.

We want to make the manatee swim in May 2017. Is Homosassa River better than Crystal River? How is the view in the water? Are there sources where you can snorkel? Thank you for your answers in advance.
So we had to Translate.
Yes the Homosassa River is far better, less people less stress and less boats.
The view in the water all depends on the day, every day is different, however the way the Homosassa River is constructed you have a better chance of better vis everyday. I hope this helps.

Hi, is it necessary to wear the neopren suite or is it possible to only wear a swimsuit vor bikini?
Escrita el 26 de febrero de 2017
You , can wear just a bathing suit, however a wet suit may allow you to stay in the water longer.

What time did you go out on your tour? I am going the end of the month and can't wait to experience this, it is on my bucket list.

We rent the cameras at our location. The digital rental is $20, and requires an SD card.
