We were disappointed in the tour== we knew it was only a week or so after the hurricane but all we had was a very bumpy boat ride and saw no fish etc.

The trip was amazing, just to be able to see the underwater life below you was exciting. My grandson loved it and it was our first time going to Silver Springs.

We had a wonderful trip. The 90-minute tour is a MUST. The captain takes you to see all types of animals. We saw dozens of monkeys, 6 manatees, several gators, beautiful fish swimming, ducks, and even treated ourselves to a delicious ice cream. Beautiful shaded property with quaint shops. Very calming.

Always enjoy this visit when I come to visit family. Seeing the bottom of the springs and listening to the tour guide, I learn something new everytime.

Absolutely fantastic glass bottom boat ride around the famous “Black Lagoon” as in The Creature from.... Our captain, Jimmy, was knowledgeable about the fish, birds, monkeys and vegetation that we saw and kept us amused with his tales of previous adventures and encounters on this beautiful lake. The water is so clear that it is impossible not to see all the fish and sea life that are pictured in the education centre prior to the ride.
Well worth the inexpensive admission price. Next time we’ll take the longer voyage but we’ll definitely be back!

Thank you so much for your review, but we think you were trying to review Silver Springs State Park's Glass Bottom Boat Tour. They are a Glass Bottom Boat Tour on the Silver Springs River, while we rent our Glass Bottom Boats to people on the Rainbow River, just West in Dunnellon, FL. I invite you to try our service the next time you plan a visit to Marion County.

Best ride ever and to see all the fish under the water from the boat. That's right! While sitting in the boat you can straight down in the water and see everything. So much fun. lots to see and do in the area.

Renting a glass bottom boat and spending a few hours on the river is a great way to relax and enjoy the unique beauty of the springs. Working with Florida Glass Bottom Boats was a breeze. We had to change our reservation twice due to bad weather and they were very flexible and accommodating. The instructions provided were just right to get us out on the river and navigating around to see the sites. For us, the 3 hour rental in the AM was perfect timing. The river started to get more crowded by the time we were leaving with lots of people on tubes and kayaks and we did get a little nervous keeping the boat out of their way. I do recommend that at least two people learn how to drive and steer the boat so they can switch off and let each other take breaks. Highly recommend this activity.

We had kayaked on the Rainbow River before but never saw these boats until this year. So glad we looked into renting one of the boats. What an absolutely wonderful way to experience the underwater life. Kayaking is fun but creates to many ripples in the water to beable to see what is going on below us. With these glass bottom boats,we were able to get a much better look and take our time doing it. The boats have a ladder so we were also able to get in and out of the boat with ease to cool off a bit. Sean was so unbelievably knowledgeable about the river as to where to stop and look for springs, fish and where to dock the boat if we wanted to get out and swim. He was also very personable and wanted to make sure we got a great experience while on the river. He took as much time that was needed to explain how to run the boat. The boat was very easy to maneuver. The boat has covering so it makes it excellent for sunny hot days or families with small children. Price to rent the boat was very reasonable.

While I live in another state now, I grew up around here. I tubed down the Rainbow River countless times as a kid and I never saw it like I saw it through a glass bottom boat. Up until then, glass bottom boats are what you ride at Silver Springs or Acapulco. The idea that I could rent one with my family and explore the areas of the river the way we wanted to explore it, and swim when we wanted to swim, was really amazing.
Shawn is an awesome host. He made sure we had bread for for the fish, gave us a map and a tour of the river using the map, and even went out of his way to make sure my 93 year old grandmother was safe and comfortable for our trip.
I highly recommend this activity.

Sean could not have been more informative/helpful at the launch. We brought our 6 year old and had an amazing time cruising the Rainbow River and stopping to swim. One of the most fun family activities we've done. Highly recommend!!
