We were very disappointed with the der guy who couldn't explain clearly what fees were involved for a tubing trip for 7 people. We brought our own tubes and we prepared to drop half the group at the launch site to minimize the shuttle fees. Instead, his lack of English or his over abundance of attitude made it unclear if it was $10/ person or $7 a person. It was $10for KP entry, and $7 for shuttle, plus we were told we could not use our 2 person tubes, so that was another $15... for 4 people. We got totally ripped off. The van almost didn't start...we had to assist. The place where you land wasn't clearly marked so we ended up scaling a wall into swampy's...2 disabled veterans...one without a leg. All after spending about $340 for a day of tubing on a half developed river with plenty of 2 person wide tubes, also loaded with drunk people, blaring music, people smoking, boats not following the no wake rules. Seriously, I live in Florida....scenes like this are what drive me crazy about a state I otherwise enjoy. Save your patience and money and go to Ichetuckneee! This was ridiculous. All of Rainbow Springs is about showing them the money they didn't earn for a river ride on a river that they don't really consistently monitor or keep enjoyable.

The location information says “ open till 5/6” but today we went at 2:45 and was told they close at 3, yet they continue to let people kayak till five. No reasonable answer as to why I could not kayak for an 1 hours or so.
I have been to this location before and did not have this issue but I am upset.
Guess we will be looking for a new location.

We used them for tubing on the Rainbow River and it was a perfect choice. They have you fill out a log when paying and then keep your Driver's license as a deposit. Then they load you and your inner tube on to their shuttle to be taken to the KP Hole county park to be dropped off right on the banks of the Rainbow River. Don't forget to keep 10 dollars per person with you as this is what the park charges each visitor for entering at KP Hole.
I thought the prices were reasonable and the service to be friendly and convenient.
I would definitely recommend Aquatic Wilderness Adventures for anyone wanting to tube the beautiful Rainbow River!

It all started when we walked in the door. After we had paid , the owner told a vulgar, sexist joke that shocked us ( I am a Vietnam Veteran and former cop, so I don’t shock easily). I told h m was disgusting and he laughed even harder.
We got on the shuttle and rode to KP Hole where the driver discovered that “they” had not loaded seats or paddles for the kayaks we had rented. He borrowed some seats from another vendor that did not fit the boat. I was so uncomfortable that we paddled back to the ramp and called them to come get us.
I was told that we only paid for a one way shuttle and normally they don’t come back and get anyone from the park. I inquired as to whether they “normally” provide seats and paddles. They “agreed” to come and get us... and their kayaks.
No offer of refund, credit or any gesture of customer service.
This was NOT our first time with this company, but it will definitely be our last .

We had no problem whatsoever. We reserved a week earlier. We took the earliest spot possible. We got into bus quickly and had only 6 people aboard. We drove to the ramp and paid our $5 to Florida in seconds and by the time we had done that our guide had all boats in the water for us. Beautiful, peaceful trip downstream. Arrived at Swampys for lunch in about 2 hours. Tip...... Go to the left when you start and paddle to the headwater first, then begin your float downstream. You are fresh in the begging ang paddling upstream for a bit is easy. It will add nearly an hour to your adventure... Take your camera, but not bottled water. Bring drinks and snacks in reuseable containers only.... You will be checked for the things not allowed....Beautiful!!!!!!

We went there, got a double Kayak, hopped into the shuttle and drove up the river to tha boat ramp. All went very easy. They picked us up in the end and helped us out of the water.
The tour along the crystal clear Rainbow river is a MUST SEE!!! Fantastic water, wildlife, nature. Eat at Swampys after an exhausting ride and go to see the Rainbow River State park as well.

We went to Aquatic Wilderness Adventures for the 4 hour inner tube rental.
It was hot and we all got sunburned. if you go, take sunblock with you so you can reapply while floating.
After the 2 hour mark we could tell we were all getting burned; but were at the whim of the current.
Also, you cannot take any disposable items, or things that could become trash, with you into the park. It was our first trip, we were inexperienced and not prepared. We noticed the old vet.'s had floating coolers with drinks, snacks, etc.
If you don't want to take stuff (food, drinks, extra stuff to carry) go to the State park and do their 2 hour tour.
Overall, good trip, nice staff, and it was really entertaining people watching.

We waited an hour and when a bus got there he loaded up and left to go somewhere else and said he may be back in 45 minutes or so to get us but wasn't sure if he would even get us then. The cashier was very friendly but we were disappointed that we didn't get to do what we set out to do!

We took our grandchildren ages 6 & 7. We took the tram over from the information center and the boat back. What fun the day was seeing all the animals and reading about them. We saw a hippo and alligator show which the kids loved. We also got to see many manatees from the observation deck. We soent several hours here and could have easily stayed longer if our schedule allowed. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Park was clean and natural.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. I think if you get to the place prior to 9:30 there are no issues getting checked in, paying for your rental and getting on the river. we did not use the shuttle service because they can put you right on the river at the location and paddle up the river and then the current takes you back down. We had a 10 year old with us and she had a ball. Staff was very nice and helpful. We rented a two person kayak and a paddle board and we had fun. The river gets crowded so start early and you'll have a blast.

Are alligators a concern on the river?
Escrita el 11 de setiembre de 2019
Every time I have gone I have not seen any alligators or snakes but I would always be attentive, just like hiking with bears or other wildlife. But I would not worry too much about them

what is the cost of rental of tubing or Kayak? what is the temp of water at the end of March? How soon do you have to make reservations. We have a family of 6

for a double, did not check on tubing due to alligators in the river ....I'm a chicken. We called for reservations three days ahead but wouldn't have needed to, its pretty much walk in.
River temp does not vary as it comes from the ground all year round and you can actually kayak right over the spring. Believe its about 56 degrees all the time. Beautiful trip, take your time, kids will enjoy the wildlife and photo ops. Good luck!!
