Very friendly atmosphere. Loved the owner and workers. Will go back and bring other family members.

It was definitely a trek to get their but worth it. We were welcomed by our host and then escorted to the bar. The bar is beautiful and it felt like you were sitting in the backyard of your friends house. We sampled some whiskey, rum and vodka. And before tasting anything there is a brief description of all the liquor we sampled. After sitting and chatting about the distillery and life in general we were then giving the tour and learned the brewing process. We will definitely return.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon here. Lots of free tastings of whiskey, vodka and rum. Had an awesome tour by the owner Matthew. Sat around tasting and talking with Matt and son Michael for about 2 hours. We plan to return and bring friends.

Absolutely best experience ever.
Owner and his son were amazing to chat with and the hospitality was pure genuine quality. The spirits are made from water directly pulled from the water heads that push into Rainbow River. When you pull up, I promise it’s ok. We thought we landed in the wrong place. Try to reserve a tour and enjoy! Salud!

We squeezed this tour between some other appointments so had to make it a little short. But we are so glad we made the visit. Master distiller Matthew and his son Michael are wonderful hosts. We wish we could have stayed longer and will certainly visit again if we are in the area. We heard some great stories and tasted some really delicious craft liquor. In fact, their Conquistador Whiskey won the gold medal at the last ADI (?) awards in 2019.
Matthew has such enthusiasm and passion for his craft. He is extremely knowledgeable about the science and the art. He sources all his materials from local farmers or grows it himself. He even shared some butterfly pea flowers with me so I can try to replicate their lemon drop.
Don’t miss an opportunity to visit, tour and sample Fish Hawk Distillery!

We drove down dirt roads to what appeared as a small town business in back woods (which I happen to like). The host and his son are very knowledgeable and approachable in delivering a friendly and nonjudgmental conversation. We brought our young son at the last minute who was accommodated beyond expectations. We were the only attendants so I only wish we could have compensated them more for the wonderful conversation and tour. The liquor is exceptional.

We bought a distillery tour on a Groupon while in town. The tour was informative and fun. We were greated by the friendly owner and his son. We tried some of the delicious drinks made by his son. We definitely could have spent all night there. It felt like going to a friend's outdoor bar and having drinks. Great time.

Four of us girls visited for a tour and complimentary drinks to this distillery.The drive through the back country of Florida is interesting in itself. Our host and his son were gracious and friendly. The owner is very knowledgeable about his craft and made the tour even more enjoyable sharing stories of his past experiences. I will certainly put it on my list of things to do when entertaining guests providing the weather is cooperating since everything is outdoors.

Our daughter had given us a Groupon for the tour. A great gift. A journey on dirt roads into the backwoods of Marion County, you wonder whether your GPS is lying to you all the way, lol.
On arrival we were immediately given a very warm welcome by Matthew our host. Others had arrived early so were enjoying a cocktail why they were waiting so we were invited to join them.
After the delicious cocktails made from the spirit of our choice we did the tour, Matthew describing the process used, interactions of ingredients etc. etc, which unless you're a scientist or distiller will go completely over your head. But what comes through is the PASSION of the host in creating the BEST products possible.
Then it was back to the Tiki bar and more samples. This is not a case of a teeny bit of each (there would be too many to go through) but rather the ones that you feel appeal to you. Either a cocktail with that as the base, or try it neat. If it's not to your taste, no problem your host will ask the sort of drinks you like and come up with something you WILL like.
Your host is a great raconteur, time flies, but there's no rush to leave. If you go on the tour you'll be looking for Fish Hawk products when you shop for spirits. I left with a bottle of black rum, thought it was the best rum I'd ever tasted. If there is more than one of you visiting, one has to be sensible with regard to driving. I wish this business every success for the future!

this place is a few miles off the paved roadways. gps is not always going to put you there. go to duffy's pub on route 40, and then proceed with gps. matthew is a great distiller, and maybe better story-teller. he does all he can do to make his guests welcome, with tastings as long as you will stay. bring your own snacks. they only provide eats on special occasions. the tour is too sophisticated for anyone not a fellow-distiller, but interesting nonetheless. call in advance to arrange your visit. worth the trip into the backwoods of marion county.

There is no real set schedule. Before heading out we gave them a call. We were told to come on over. It's not a "fussy" place, they are very nice and are happy to answer your questions.
Given them a ring and they will be happy to assist.
