Beautiful walk, did not meet another person during the walk , so quiet and peaceful. Lots of interesting information from the iWalk app.

We walked from the top of Fore Street through a wood and across fields then down to the Valency Valley. The uphill climb to the church was steep and seemingly never-ending but it was worth it.
We then followed another path down into the valley and followed the river back to Boscastle.
Great walk!

This is a 90 minute round hike (pick up the route details from the National Trust office at Boscastle) which goes along the riverside then across and up into the woods to eventually bring you to the historic and picturesque Minster church, returning via the back of the town. Well worth doing if you have a couple of hours spare.

This circular walk from the main car park upto the Minster Church ,back to the car park is wonderful. A real gem. The changes throughout the seasons is wonderful. A little bit of an effort but well worth it.

The walk from Boscastle up the Valency Valley is charming. I didn’t meet a single person whilst doing it and it felt so peaceful. It does require a reasonable degree of fitness which I have so was no problem for me. There were stepping stones approx half way up the river but the river was running quite fast so I sensibly decided not to risk these today but carried on up to the bridge to get across the river. The walk was well sign posted so I had no trouble finding the Minster. The church itself is beautiful and well worth a visit whether you are religious or not. I took a different walk back down to Boscastle. Would happily recommend if walking is your thing.

We hadn’t done this walk for a while and decided to use the brilliant iWalk app to guide us which made the navigation effortless and also provided some really useful facts along the way which gave us some new things to look out for like the mysterious carved scissors on the wall of Minster Church tower and the grave of Joan Wytte, a woman who had been unjustly condemned as a witch in the 18th century and whose skeleton had spent many years on display at the nearby Museum of Witchcraft before finally being given a peaceful resting place. We did the walk in April and I can’t recommend it highly enough at this time of year as the valley is a carpet of bluebells and wild garlic.

There is a delightful walk along the river towards the Minster. On the way there are some excellent stepping stones. Like many walks it becomes more peaceful the further you get away from the Car Park. Also the patch is quite level, so good for all.

From the main car park in Boscastle, take the riverside track to follow the river upstream until reaching a wooden footbridge. Cross the bridge and follow the woodland track steeply uphill to find the church. A delightful walk which can be finished by returning along the same track or by taking the quiet road down into the village.
