I Really enjoyed my 2 days last week at Snowy Range.. The equipment rental & ticket pickup process was flawless, with friendly, efficient staff, as well as professional lift operators wherever we skied. I have skied over 50 years & at most major areas in Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Oregon & Washington, & was impressed with your area. The ticket price was fair AND I especially enjoyed my free pass because I am 73 year old=THANKS FOR THIS !!!!
I had an issue that was handled most professionally at the ticket window, making my experience at your area even more enjoyable.
I am looking forward to many days next season, skiing with my Grandson, who will be attending University of Wyoming.
Thanks for having such a nice ski area close to the University , I will see you next year

The owners are wonderfully nice people. This resort is one of the last on the planet with reasonable prices. Today, the snow was exceptional, but the ski patrol is likely more concerned about your face mask status (whether it's high enough) than in helping scoop injured people from the slopes. I'm not the first to hold this sentiment.

This was my third time to Snowy Range as my young grandsons (now aged 7 & 6) are learning to ski. They took lessons from the ski school team who are excellent and most patient with youngsters. The boys are now able to "attack" the blue runs without fear. The resort is small compared to many other more well known resorts but great for the skier just learning or for the skier wanting build skills after being away from the sport. There is little to no waiting at the lifts. I can only advise on rental gear for youngsters - there are plenty of skis/boots/helmets available and the team takes their time to ensure you are accommodated.

Great place to have fun with friends and family ... It would be a perfect place to learn to ski. Reminiscent of the good old days of skiing - Great value. Ski shop, coffee and lunch.

Notes on specific trails, from the perspective of skiers who like speed but consider moguls verboten:
The Good: Seminole, Arapahoe, Drifter, Rawhide, Gunslinger, Virginian, Crow's Nest, Cheyenne, Roundup, Warpath
The Bad: all black slopes, Sundance, Shoshoni, Calamity Jane
The Ugly: Blackfoot - it doesn't slope enough to pull you along.
Trails not mentioned were not skied by us this winter.
What you will notice is that not all blue slopes are created equal - some have moguls, some don't.

Loved the no lines and staff. Ski intensely for 2.5 hours and had beer in lodge. Great place for half day when on budget and NO hassles getting there and you know what I mean. My little grandson had his first lesson there while his grandparents skied
After I get my ski legs, will hit big mountain. But I enjoy skiing at Snowy. Plenty enough mountain for me as older, but advanced skier.

Great family ski resort. The lessons our kids got were fantastic. They learned way more here than at a large CO place. They both can ski now! Yes smaller but that was an advantage for us. Easy to get in and get going on a run. Short lines and rentals right there.

Our family loves to ski at Snowy Range. Come as you are--all budgets and ability-levels will feel comfortable and find fun. The staff is friendly and helpful whether you're an old pro or a first-timer. Short to no lift lines every time we have visited, making for lots of laps on a variety of runs and a full day of skiing. Runs are good for skills development and provide easy glides and more technical grades that make you set your edges and test your nerve. Also enjoy renting equipment from the ski area. The skis have sharp edges and are in great condition. Online rental in advance makes picking up skis a snap. We enjoy the lodge, too, where we bring our lunch and warm up mid-day. Traffic to the ski area is little to none, which sure beats the I-70 mayhem the other direction. Pack up the family for a great day on the slopes at Snowy Range--you'll feel like you discovered a best-kept secret.

We LOVED skiing at Snowy! It's a refreshing change from the corporate owned ski resorts. No high speed quad lifts, not a huge mountain, but no crowds, and no ridiculously high prices. We were a group of four adults and we really appreciated the enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere. If you want to avoid beginners the back side is great. No more than 4 ahead of us for any lift. And this was on a weekend! The lodge food was good as well. Good rental equipment and process.

Not a very large ski resort, but still fun with a good variety of runs to keep us entertained. And, despite spring break not much for crowds, though a lot of beginners, so know that before deciding to go here. And, prices are great - 3 day lift ticket much less than just one day at the major Colorado resorts & cost to stay in the area much less as well.
