My wife set me up with a SD boat surf session last fall which was awesome, so me and two friends did the "deep Baja" trip in February. Was awesome from start to finish and Manny is top notch - as a host, guide, surfer, photog, and importantly, friend. Great guy, great trip. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Can't say enough good things about him and his business.

If you're looking for an EPIC surf adventure and experience - this is it!
Manny is an amazing host, captain and human. I have heard about him and his trips for a while, my wife even went on a day trip earlier this year, and this time my wife and I got to go together and scored some super fun surf! The whole journey is epic - he's got it dialed - from booking to the boat ride to how he has curated all the details of the trip and experience, and he is really considerate and respectful of the local lineups. His professionalism and passion for stoking people out on having fun with surfing is authentic and appreciated and put a smile on everyone's face all day. I HIGHLY recommend booking an EPIC adventure with Manny!!

Epic Surf Tours was an absolute blast for our Cabo weekend! We booked it for a long-weekend and everything was taken care of us, we just showed up and had my best experience in Cabo yet! Manny our guide was extremely knowledgeable and an amazing guide, having him as part of our group let us live like a local and he knew all the best spots in town. 10/10 recommend!

I'm so glad that I booked the Baja Single Day Surf Strike tour with Manny and had the experience of a lifetime! This was my first time doing a surf trip and I can confidently say this is the first of many more to come. Manny is professional, knowledgeable and the perfect guide for the trip. Having all of the details handled made it such an easy process where I could focus on surfing and having a good time!
Amazing surf, incredible food and beautiful experience visiting Baja. What more could you ask for? Already looking forward to the next trip!

Even if you're not a surfer, Manny can show you the high points of Baja including markets, natural beauty like rock and water formations, restaurants, wineries, and horseback riding on the beach. Manny will make sure your group has a great time in Baja.

When it comes to anything ocean related Manny is “The MAN”!!!
We’ve been on two trips with him now and have seriously had the BEST times, ever. Every detail of the trip is covered, well planned, and brilliantly executed. He has the utmost knowledge, skills, and abilities to bring the maximum amount of stoke and enjoyment to each and every person on his tour. He takes the time to get to know the skill levels and preferences of his clients and customizes his trips so that no one is left out.
I guess in olden times they would call Manny Vargas a “Renaissance Man.” A more contemporary label would be that he is a “Renaissance Waterman”. I mean, seriously, what can’t this guy do?! He is an expert Boat Captain, Surfer, Bodyboarder, Tour Guide, Commentator, Photographer, Videographer, Businessman, etc and all around super nice guy. When I first met him he gave me a genuine, ear to ear smile that could light up all of San Diego! Whether communicating with him online or in person, I have never caught “attitude”, “flakiness”, or an air of arrogance from Manny, which is highly unusual for those who are involved in the Surf Industry and his professionalism is hallmark.
On our first Epic Boat Trip, I was recovering from a torn rotator cuff and my friend Prue (who was the #6 ranked female surfer in the world) was recovering from a strained lumbar. Manny chose a surf break located off the coast of Southern California that was perfectly suited for our skill level at the time but also met the needs of the other clients on his boat. We were also impressed by his emphasis on safety, proper surf etiquette, and respect for nature. The rates for his trips are VERY affordable considering the amount of water time and tour time that you receive.
What’s also cool is that on our last trip we were informed that Epic Surf Tours has a Newsletter that keeps you informed of conditions, upcoming events, and vacancies for his trips and I can totally see us booking some last minute adventures with him. If you are an active person who loves the ocean then living in or visiting San Diego would not be complete without booking some time on the water with Epic Surf Tours! And, now that we know the 411 about his schedules via his Newsletter, hanging with Manny is going to become a more regular thing with us! YEW!!!

I had a fantastic time at Epic Boat Trip Surf Session last Friday! It was an amazing morning session of surfing local spots and a harbor tour. Manny is excellent and made sure we had a safe and fun session. If you want a great surfing experience, I recommend Epic and Manny.

Manny is awesome! Took the Epic Boat Trip to surf some San Diego reefs for 4 hours. Manny is a stand up guy; preps us for all the waves we'll encounter, provides lunch/drinks, even takes pictures! We even encountered a couple on a small boat that had engine troubles - Manny turned around and had no problem taking the time to help them out. Super stoked that he joined us for the last hour of waves too. Growing up in the late 90's and early 2000's primarily bodyboarding, I was pretty starstruck sharing waves with this legend. The trip was well worth the $99. Honestly I think he should be charging more, so get on it!

I've been on 3 boat trips and a baja weekender with Manny. He's top notch. A super knowledgeable guide, fun story teller, expert photographer and safe captain. Even if it's flat he will make sure you have a good time and he'll make you look like a hero even on the smallest waves.
