We had a wonderful morning with several llamas. The animals were inquisitive. The walk was relaxing and interesting. The owners were interesting and helpful.

We loved our experience at Llamas del Sol in Albuquerque! Lynda and Frank are such nice people who truly care about their animals and enjoy introducing them to their guests. We were each assigned a llama to walk with and given a short safety and handling lesson. The llamas were gentle and easy to handle. Mine was a retired pack llama, so he was content to take it easy, stopping every now and then for tasty leaves. The walk was mostly shaded, and we delivered the llamas to a nearby farm for grazing, had some snacks (both the llamas and us), and returned by a scenic walk to the ranch. These are Rescue Llamas, and the Southwest Llama Rescue is a 501(c)(3), so even if you're not able to travel for a walk with the llamas, you can still support their cause. Not to miss if you're visiting Albuquerque!

My friends from Pittsburgh came in to town and wanted to go on an adventure. Linda and Llamas del Sol did not disappoint. I’m in love with the Dalai Llama, who was my own personal trekking partner and because I brought a camera, I suggest you do, I have the pictures to prove the love. ; ) (You will definitely want to capture moment after moment of what will be a memorable experience.) Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and water. Linda was a wonderful tour guide and shared amazing stories about each of her rescued Llamas. We opted for a longer excursion which took us along the Rio Grande River after a short walk along the road. Linda provided a wonderful lunch of yummy sandwiches, chips, fruit, and tea. After lunch we had the chance to feed the Llamas snacks, and learn the proper way to ask a Llama to lay down on the ground. The experience was one I will not forget. Linda was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide who worked hard to make sure we had an amazing experience. She was very welcoming of not only her Llamas, but her home and time as well. I suggest you check out her website if you want to learn a little bit about the Llamas.

Thank you Jessica! you and your friends were very easy to share my llamas with and so enjoyable to talk to as well! Thank you for assisting with the training of our young rescue llama and offering to take him along with us to expose him to new sights. You are a true llama llover :-) and welcome back any time!
