So much fun. A short and eventful outing with excellent first mate giving information and history. Sighted Minkes, harbor porpoises, grey and harbor seals, and many birds.

Small boat and knowledgeable guide and captain. Felt like your favorite uncle was taking you out for a tour.

Saw two/three whales, porpoises, bald eagles.

Well worth the price.

This would have been a great day on the water even without seeing whales . We were fortunate enough to spot some smaller Minke whales and also one Fin Whale. We had a beautiful calm day to enjoy the ride. Also saw seals , bald eagles , porpoises and some other birds. The captain and first mate were very informative.

My family of 7, including my 5 year old grandson went on the Tarquin and it was the highlight of our Maine trip. My family has been coming to Maine for 50 years but this trip was one of the best memories! John and the Captain made our trip AMAZING! Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the nature we saw made our trip a wonderful experience. What a hidden gem nestled in little Lubec! We will go every year from now on!
We saw whales and actually our boat was surrounded by 4 whales in the distance, or as John said "We are in whale soup!" We saw porpoises and eagles and beautiful landscapes! I think the time of year was important but we had a fantastic trip!

Very pleasant experience. We saw whales, bald eagles, seals, and other wildlife. Captain Jessie did a good job getting us in position to see the whales. Merideth was full of interesting information, very engaging, and available for questions.

It was a beautiful day in the third week of September when we went whale watching in the afternoon. We were told to arrive 15 minutes early, and got started 30 minutes late waiting for folks who were supposed to be on the tour. They were on the boat already, but there was an administrative snafu.

Captain Jesse was accessible to answer questions, but not really engaging, which was fine with us. He took us to see a lighthouse, eagles nest, seals, FDR’s summer residence. The scenery was gorgeous, the only problem was no whales! In late Septmber, we took a chance that the whales would not have migrated south. We lost.

The boat size was great, captain was fun & a character! He did a good job of “chasing” whales to make sure we got as many sightings as possible. Saw seals & porpoises too. The only drawback was the “1st mate” who, though very nice and full of info for us, we couldn’t hear only about 10% of what she said, over the sound of the engine. Highly suggest some sort of mic or speaker system so everyone can get the full experience.

Anyone that visits Lubec has got to take this tour. The boat itself is spacious for a smaller group , it's safe and allows people to move around. Sufficient life preservers and has a bathroom. You should bring layers of clothing, camera and snacks are permitted to bring. The Captain is awesome! He is laid back but gives anyone fearing the water a sense of security and knowledge from the beginning. The ride for us was very smooth and so very enjoyable. The water is gorgeous, the landscapes and islands are of beauty. The lighthouses along the way were amazing to see from a different perspective. During covid19 restrictions, it was very nice to see Campbell's Island from the water. The price is more than fair. We saw a half dozen whales and the captain seemed as excited as us on our chase. Highly recommend!

What a magical place. We camped there and spent a few days sightseeing. We went whale watching and saw a few. Captain did a great job of “chasing” one whale we saw. We also saw dolphins and other wildlife. All in all, good stop!

We saw whales, porpoises, harbor seals, and eagles. The captain described what to look for when trying to spot whales and told us how to tell what kind of whale we saw. He also pointed out land features and other points of interest. It was both informative and thrilling!
