Upon entering the museum we received a brochure in Dutch. A presentation was given in English with a video about the origins of the stone forest.
The museum is nicely decorated, it's a pity that you are not allowed to take photos inside, but outside there are also several large petrified trees (or pieces of them). At the back of the garden is a gazebo containing a petrified tree root (called octopus).
There is a bar next to the museum.
On the way to the museum we also saw stone trees along the track
I think €5 entrance is enough if you are not allowed to take photos inside.

Worth visiting.
It is a long drive (from Petra) to the petrified forest. We did not visit the inside museum, unfortunately there was no time left for that. The walk is not suitable for disabled people. Slopes too steep.

The lecture we attended on the history of the petrified forest was very informative and the way the museum exhibits were presented was very good.

It is worth a combined visit with the petrified forest of Lesvos. The museum has 2 rooms, the 1st is dedicated to the petrified forest and the 2nd to the creation of the world in general. The staff of the museum gives a presentation about the creation of the petrified forest and tours of the museum rooms. Children are also given the opportunity to watch a presentation with an earthquake simulation. With the same ticket you can also visit the petrified forest.

Same as the reviews last year by the looks of it. €5 each, friendly staff keen to speak English, interesting exhibits in Greek and English, immaculate toilets, lovely cafe with helpful staff and great coffee. Used our ticket for free entry at the Petrified Forest itself (where the staff need lessons in friendliness and manners from the staff at this Museum).
My only comment would be the lack of air con in the Museum which would have been appreciated today.

A fascinating museum with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The €5 entry free covers same day entry to the outdoor areas of forest as well as the museum in Sigri.
Well worth covering as much as you can to see the amazing preserved trees but also for the stunning views over the bay at Sigri and the mountains inland.

Check the website for special events and tours, often on a Saturday. The Marine tour wasn’t running when we visited, there is a telephone number for enquiries if this is important to you.

Take a hat, wear comfortable walking shoes/sandals and take water when exploring the petrified forest. Photography isn’t allowed inside the Museum but outside is fine.

I'll start by saying that I have no interest in Paleontology or Geology. My wife wanted to visit the Petrified Forest Park so that's where we went. The entry fee is €5 each, which also gets you entry to the Natural History Museum. The park has some different walks, but be advised there is little or no cover so choose your time carefully. If you like petrified tree remains then this is for you. Then onto the Narural History Museum in Sigri. Let's start with the staff, who were pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The exhibits, videos and information were first class and thought provoking even to someone like me. An excellent Museum and highly recommended.

This year the most welcoming and friendly Museum of natural history and of the petrified forest of Lesvos, - unique in its kind in Greece -, had a great surprise for its visitors! A painting exhibition of the Parthenon marbles along with other "torso" studies of Tomas Watson, a British artist, who works and lives in Greece. "Torso" as a petrified tree, a statue or a human body is in direct dialogue with the nature and the petrified forest around the museum and gives the feeling that the spirit, the soul of a tree, of a human body, or even of a sculpture of a God can be immortalised through the process of nature or through a gifted and talented artist!
