How did you book the trip? Was it easy to put a deposit down? Did they arrive promptly to your hotel in Cusco? What was the best way to contact them?

We booked with Explorandes online, and they sent me a link to make a deposit with my VISA card. It was very easy. Ms. Emily Fernandez, our trip planner, answered all online questions within 24-48 hrs. She was quite responsive. They were waiting for us at the Cusco airport to take us to our hotel, and they were always on time to pick us up at the hotel for tours and excursions. They are a reputable company.

we booked directly with exploreandes online. I think I put down a deposit through PayPal. They were always very prompt and gave us a lot of information everywhere along the way. We communicated mostly through email.

We did everything via email and I asked a ton of questions before we booked. Once we were ready to book, they sent me an invoice that detailed all of the fees and then an link to pay the deposit online. Once we arrived to Cusco, we got a message at our hotel from our guide asking us to meet for drinks the night before we left. He reviewed the plan for the trip and answered our questions. Then the next morning he picked us up at our hotel. From then on we communicated via WhatsApp... But not much bc we were together the whole time.

My trek was based in Huaraz in the Ancash Region well away from the mass tourism of Cusco. But if you want to do some trekking around Cusco, Explorandies have a range of offerings in the that region. If they are anywhere near as professional as our team from Huarez, you have a great time.

I actually booked the Huayhuash Circuit trip through Go Adventures who provided an English speaking chaperone and sub-contracted the rest of the Explorandes. (There is not a lot of English spoken. up in Huayhuash area.)

But Explorandes have a Lima office so you should be able to book though that Office. If you don't speak Spanish you may be able to arrange a chaperone who speaks another language through them. ie:

Office: San Fernando street 287, Miraflores.

Telephone: (51) 084 245700

Call us now:

USA: +194 788 85037

UK: +441 156 97173

BTW: I think the Huayhuash trekking season is drawing to a close for the year at the moment. The wet season is coming and you don't want to get caught in a storm at 5000 meters with the only shelter several days walk away.

I booked thru a travel agent. It was easy. Our guide Claudia actually came by the hotel 2 nights before to meet us, give a run down of the hike and answer any questions. All very professional. At every step Explorandes was prompt, respectful and very responsive.

We booked through Travel Beyond who arranged a 30 day trip for us which was excellent. Best drivers and guides of any trip we've taken
