Has anyone visited more recently than Graham G below? Whilst not wanting to scaremonger I do worry about being packed into a crowded tourist site with visitors who may have come from countries where Coronovirus is prevalent. Very grateful for an update on bio security at the site from those who work there or who have visited in the past few days.
Hello, we’re just there yesterday. Empty sites everywhere. You will still encounter small handful westerners tourists and asians. We took lots of good pictures with blank (no tourists) passing behind you. Still take precautions, wash your hands often, sanitized your hands/ lunch table/ utensils.
I am in Siem Reap now and have been for several days. There are so few people here that you nearly have the place to yourself! Had planned this trip last year and am thankful I didn’t cancel with the virus scare. Feel safer here the I would at home.
Thanks. We were there about 10 days and it wasn’t too bad if you could pick your way around all the photographers. However I much preferred the other historic sites around Siem Reap.
Was there last week. EMPTY, EMPTY, WMPTY. No Chinese bus tours, absolutely zero. We walked thru our huge hotel lobby alone. Hardly anyone there except the staff. Angkor Wat was giving one free day with each day purchased, although we did not go back the second day. One day is enough. No lines, no waiting, no tourists. An ideal time to go.
