Experience the real Anjouan

Hotel is in the heart of the Medina. Not very easy to find but friendly locals will ahow you the way. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Shower very simple but functional. Best part is the roof top terrace where you can have dinner if you ask the owner. Arcan(owner) is very friendly and helpful. He takes hospitality very seriously and he will show you all around town, let you know at which local places to eat and even haggle great prices for you in the market. He also arranges car tours around the island. We stayed 2 nights and had a very easy and relaxing stay.

Awful and uneasy experience

Me and 2 friends booked here for 2 nights. We were met by a man that's cousins owned the madina. He gave us the option of rooms which we agreed to take the 'suite' 1 double bed and a mattress on the floor for a cost of 55 a night. He insisted to help us walk around and find somewhere to eat. Which we were told on numerous times what an honest man he was. And how safe Comoros was. But we politely told him we would like to walk around by ourselves. His mood completely changed towards us. Later my friend (that speaks fluent French) went down to get sheets and towels to find him in an argument with a guy and had him pinned against the wall. Not a nice experience. On the morning of departure he got testy for us not letting him know sooner to get the bill ready and it was followed by 10 euro extra per night added onto it.. My friend delt with it because she spoke French and through it all he said her that she could pay what she want but to remember he did not threaten her. The water in the shower also didn't work after the first night or the electricity. Not a nice experience and certainly not a nice or honest man. Especially ladies travelling beware.…

Einfaches Hotel im Zentrum der Inselhauptstadt mit netter Dachterrasse!

Das Medina Hotel liegt wie der Name schon sagt mitten in den engen Gassen der Medina von Moutsamoudou. Im engen Labyrinth der Medina ist natürlich kein Autoverkehr möglich, daher muss man vom Taxi ein paar Minuten zu Fuß gehen. Die Fahrer helfen aber gerne und zeigen den Weg zum Hotel. Um sich in den engen Gassen nicht zu verlaufen sollte man sich Anhaltspunkte merken. Das Hotel ist einfach ausgestattet, mit einfachen Zimmern, mit Badezimmer, WC, Sateliten TV, u. Ventilator. Das Frühstück wird auf der Dacherrasse serviert, welche einen schönen Ausblick über die Stadt, aufs Meer und auf die an die Stadt angenzenden Berge bietet. Abends und Nachts hat man auch meist einen wunderbaren Sternenhimmel. Abgesehen vom Frühstück werden im Hotel keine Speisen oder Getränke angeboten. Jedoch bieten die Gassen der Medina jede Menge Shops, Bäckereien etc.. die Lebensmittel, Getränke und Speisen anbieten. Auch in der Stadt findet man Restaurants die gutes Essen anbieten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, spricht aber abgesehen vom Besitzer kein Englisch. Mit ein paar Brocken Französisch kommt man allerings gut zurecht.…
