~Hosts were very friendly, relaxed and accommodating couple!! ~Bed & Breakfast place is spacious and clean. ~There is a common area in the living room that you could read their magazines, books, or play board games. ~We had the opportunity to stay in the Bumbleberry Room that had the soaker tub, walk in closet, bar fridge, private balcony, etc. (all listed on website) ~Checked out other rooms (Blackberry, Strawberry & Blueberry) and all looked clean. ~Landscaping: they have chickens in coops at the back, as well, self-draining duck pond and depending on season you'll see the ducks that reside there yearly. There is a large wrap-around porch from the back to the front of the house. Also depending on the season, you'll be able to see hummingbirds at their feeders. ~Breakfast: plentiful, MUST TRY their fresh eggs from their chickens!! Also available: fresh coffee & tea, orange juice, cereal, fresh fruit, plain yogurt, pasty items like muffins, ham + cheese croissant (really good), scrambled eggs. ~We drove by car and it was appx. 5-7 minutes from the ferry terminal, the instructions were quite clear from their website & Google Map. If you go in the Spring, drive carefully as we passed by many deers and fawns wandering around. There is parking available on the side of the house. ~We drove around and did little hikes recommended by the host, it was very lovely!! ~Lunch & dinner we tried little pubs located at the marinas and it was great! Overall, great experience!! Website launched recently: http://www.bumbleberryinn.ca/

I spent a delightful four days at the Bumbleberry Inn B&B. Audrey, the owner/host is a charming person . She does everything to ensure her guests enjoy the perfect, peaceful getaway. If you want to relax and get away from the everyday routine, you must go to this inn on beautiful Gabriola Island.

This bed and breakfast goes above and beyond the traditional B&B in every sense. The host, Sherry is a delightful, friendly woman, who is all about your comfort during your stay. The place is very laid back, not pretensious in the slightest, and only takes seconds to fit into perfectly as if it were your own home. A renovated country house, the building is decorated beautifully, insicde and out. Nestled in Gabriola's gorgeous woods, there is several acres of yard, both wooded and lawned, along with fish pond, chicken coop, and garden to explore. There is outdoor games, a large army hammon, a tee-pee, and a fort for children and adults who like to act like children. I had a brief peek into the other two rooms, and saw both were furnished beautifully and comfortably. We stayed in the Bumbleberry Suite for our anniversary and it was spectacular. Large room, lush carpet, huge aunswuite, beautiful view from King size bed and large, deep bathtub, along with large walk-in closet, pull-out couch/bed, table, and stools. Your request for coffee, or tea is taken the night before and between 7:00-7:15am it srrives on a beautiful tray with insultaed carafes, cups, cream, sugar, the works. A continetal breakfast with muffins, fruit, yogurt, and granols is set up along with apple and orange juice in the incredible country kitchen, to keep you satisfied until the meal. The meal was my favorite part. Sherry set up a make-your-own style omolette bar, with countless toppings, fresh eggs, and ziplock bags, in which you literally make your own omolette. After putting them in a double-boiler for 13 minutes, they roll out of the bag onto a plate with toast and grape-fuit and are yours to enjoy. Sherry also offers a pick-you-up, drop-you-off service to and from the ferry and is an all-around nice lady. She had a bunch of games as well as a full tv-dvd-vcr in which you can bring and watch your own movies if that whats you want to do. All in in, it was a wonderful experience and we will definatly go back.
