The few reviews here appear to be for the restaurant and not the overnight lodging portion of the venue. We stayed for a quick overnight getaway because, well, we needed to get away. The suites are large, well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Everything you could want. I agree with other reviews that the restaurant could use some work. The facility is beautiful and the beer is good. The food is not bad, but I wouldn't go just for that.
Beautiful place. Very expensive. Burnt chocolate bread pudding. Friends had burgers that were good. Waffle BLT not good. Fish po'boy not good. Not worth the money. But again, beautiful place, fire outside in the middle of winter. Very nice. Food, not so much.
Visited last week. Considering the price we paid for dinner we were disappointed with the service. The salad was wilted and brown lettuce for $3 extra. The salmon and crab cake dinners tasted good but since they were delivered in 8 minutes they were definitely precooked and just heated up. For $70 we don't like leftovers. Waitress rushed us, 34 minutes for a dinner is not relaxing. Then as soon as my husband started to reach into his pocket for his wallet she was at the table waiting for the money. I really wanted to come here but was disappointed with our experience.
Do not order the chicken and biscuits. The biscuits are hardtack and there was no chicken in the gravy except for a crispy chicken wing. We’ve had other good meals there but are not fans of the Sunday brunch.
We went to this place for a late lunch, and had been here before. They have good food with interesting specials, nice selection of craft beers and friendly staff. But beware of your credit card, ours was compromised right after visiting.
