Gjesten likte ikke: · WARNING: CLEMENS IS A SCAM! DO NOT BOOK THIS APARTMENT IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THE OWNER´S FRAUD! For us the fraud started already on arrival. A pleasant young woman appeared with the keys about 20 minutes after we arrived. (the owners wife/girlfriend?). We first contacted the owner on the phone, standing outside in the alley. The information we got through Booking.com clearly stated that a late arrival would not cost extra. Despite this, the young woman wanted 25 euros from us, which we paid,- although it didn´t feel right. Well installed in the apartment, the woman then demanded 200 euros cash, - as a deposit. Although unusual, I can remember paying cash deposits on other trips, when renting a car in Spain, so I was not overlykkelig suspicious. We paid the deposit, and got a receipt. Back in Norway, we wondered why we still had not got our money back after ten days. We contacted the owner of the apartment in Clemens place, and he said he was witholding the deposit because we had left the apartment dirty(!) We are an adult couple, and left the apartment almost as clean as we found it; washing dishes, making the bed, and cleaning surfaces. The only thing left to do was to take out ONE bag of garbage. But we had already paid our host 50 euros for cleaning, and thought that was a very generous pay to a cleaning lady, whom it would take maximum 20 minutes to make the apartment spotless. The next mail from the «landlord» contained pictures of paper napkins and a little coffee grounds on the floor next to the waste basket, - obviously spread on the floor by the host himself to illustrate the «dirty apartment»! Although a very crude, obvious, and primitive form of fraud, it´s difficult for us to get our money back now that we´re back home. It´s sad that people like this man is allowed to run his scam through booking.com, and I hope we are able to stop him. To be fair, I have visited Spain many times, but never experienced anything like this!
