Lovely apartment with a balcony providing the most amazing views.
Pros - Very well equipped for holiday needs, TV, Wifi, good range of kitchen equipment, washing machine, BBQ, sun loungers, table, chairs and parasol, stereo, aircon in bedroom, good shower power, plenty of storage for clothes etc. Clean and tidy. Friendly host. Can hear the sea lapping against the rocks whilst in the apartment, very soothing when relaxing, reading or nodding off to sleep.
Cons - We found the mattresses uncomfortable, way to hard (that may be personal preference though) and the sofa bed is not a sofa bed as we know it in the UK...whilst it is comfortable to sleep on it only sleeps one, it does not fold/pull out. There are seven flights of stairs to the apartment (49 steps total) plus a few steps to get into the apartment block, and only every other flight has a hand rail. This proved a little difficult for my mother who is disabled, but when I booked the holiday my mother had not intended to come...so not Nelson's fault.
Other information -
There is a lovely café / bar just five minutes walk from the apartment along the sea front - walk across the car park, over the bridge, down the slope and along the sea front. The nearest grocery store is a five minute drive away through the first tunnel (heading towards Ponta do Sol), you can also get car fuel here.
If you get chance, visit Seixal rock pools and St Vicente lava tunnel caves, both absolutely amazing.
