Had a wonderful stay at Ard Na Mara. Beautiful house in a stunning location. House is clean, spacious and very well equipped. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful
We had a lovely stay at Ard na Mara,it is surrounded by a rugged natural beauty,the house is bright spacious and clean and very well equipped with a wonderful view from every window,if you like walking the Rosquill peninsula is an amazing walk the scenery is stunning,horn head and the murder hole beach is also a great place to visit,Ard na Mara is a very quiet and peaceful place we loved it and I

6th time here!
Another lovely week in Ard na Mara. The views from this house are STUNNING in rain and shine - the location is beautiful, peaceful and well away from the hubbub of the nearby villages. The house is a perfect base for touring all the best beaches and near Downings and Carrigart for shopping/coffee/takeaways. The house was spotless in most places on arrival and linens are all very fresh and crisp. The house is equip with most things you would need to cook all meals. There are a few details getting a little tired such as the fridges, the gas hob (it took 35 mins to cook pasta!) and the dishwasher. The kettle broke while we were there but the owner told us were a replacement was so it was sorted immediately! The bedrooms are good and the 2 ensuite upstairs are fine too. Downstairs bathroom is ok but needs a bit of updating too. The lounge is fabulous - views are tremendous and lovely and bright and airy. We love the open plan style of the kitchen, dining, living area - it’s so much more sociable for family holidays. Overall a beautiful location, lovely home and very good communication with the owner. Would highly recommend.

A beautiful gem
Our stay in Ard Na Mara was the perfect beach holiday. Nestled in the hills 3 km north of Downings it is close enough to be able to cycle each morning to the village for fresh bread but also far enough away so that the whole peninsula felt like your own. the house was great. Outdoors good garden areas for the kids to play in the alfresco dining area was great to enjoy barbecues overlooking the views of Horn head and Torey island. Indoors the open plan living area was superb with a fully stocked kitchen and extra fridge in the utility that’s great. Two bedrooms downstairs and two double rooms upstairs both with ensuite three excellent.The upstairs games room was a jewel in the crown the kids loved it and we enjoyed a great family time there. Luckily there are several amazing beaches which we enjoyed every day for a swim or paddling or paddle boarding body boarding and lots of classes for surfing and kayaking. Luckily there is lots to do. I loved taking a bike ride round the peninsula beautiful beaches and scenery to enjoy. There are local villages in Carrigart and Dunfanaghy to enjoy. Eating out the Goose & Gander was great I would definitely recommend the Sining Pub. Stephen was a great host wonderful property clean and tidy and thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to go back again to the amazing home and beautiful Downings. Slán

Incredible Stay
We have just returned from an incredible 3 night stay in Donegal, everything about Ard Na Mara was just fantastic. The only fault we have is that we didn’t stay longer. The games room was a huge plus and Stephen was so easy to communicate with.
We had dinner in the Singing Pub on our last night and if you stay in Ard Na Mara this is a must :)

A holiday venue with the wow factor
We stayed in a group of 9. A few days before we were due to go we were given a welcome back with instructions to access the house and with information about places nearby, taxis and things to do.
When we’re arrived we were blown away with the accommodation. It was a great location and had everything u would need to have a very relaxing and fun stay.
The beds were comfortable, the house warm And clean there wasn’t anything we could find fault in. There were games and we made use of the 80’s quiz!
We got great weather so we didn’t use the pool table and games room but it’s an option if it rains.
The venue is close to the most amazing beaches and there are restaurants nearby. We got a taxi to the singing pub which had amazing food.
We had a fabulous stay and will def book again in the future.
Great communication with the hosts who gave us all the help we needed.

Fabulous spacious house with great views and location
We are just back from a wonderul week in Ard Na Mara and will definitely return. It is a lovely big comfortable family house with a great layout and everything you could need. Stephen is a fab host and was very helpful and welcoming. The view of Horn Head and Tory island from most parts of the house were the highlight for me. The Games room and spacious play area inside and out, were no doubt the highlight for our children. All the bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The downstairs living, eating, cooking areas are all open plan and run into each other which makes for great family time. It was wonderul being so close to some of the most beautiful beaches and views in Donegal/Ireland/the World! We were able to relax indoors but still fit in lots of outdoor time exploring the Rosguill Pennisula and beyond. The taxi service to Downings is great and it meant we had some lovely fun time and great meals in the local restaurants. I would definitely recommend this property for a fun and relaxing break with family or friends.

We had the best time at ard na mara. When we arrived on 3/8/19 the house was spotless so fresh and so clean. The weather was up and down but it didnt dampen our stay. We became expert pool players as the kids just loved the games room. One of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed in. My daddy's only moan was that we couldn't get rte to watch the Gaelic match lol. Thanks so much for a beautiful holiday home we made the best families memories.
