Thank you Steve and Rita for being the best possible hosts we have ever met. So friendly and welcoming we feel we have made 2 great friends. Tadpoles is a perfect setting for a fabulous relaxing holiday. Set in beautiful gardens and just a short walk, 5 minutes, from the most beautiful beaches you can imagine. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Comfy bed with mosquito net, lovely verandah overlooking banana trees and bougainvillea lots of exotic birds etc. Restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance and a great ice cream parlour just 2 minutes away. Will definitely be coming back..

We spent 2 weeks with Steve and Rita and stayed in the smaller unit “ Tadpoles “ We received a warm welcome and were made very much at home, the apartment is very well equipped and very cleverly. insect proofed, it has a very comfortable double bed with an additional mosquito curtain, it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. Castara is great place to stay on Tobago, with many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance from the apartment, as are the lovely beaches of big and little bay, we enjoyed the snorkelling and saw many reef fish, lots of rays, and a few turtle, you can walk everywhere in Castara, there is also car hire at little bay. We had a great time and are planning our next visit already.

My stay at Steve and Rita's was a delightful experience. They made me feel welcome and were extremely helpful and generous throughout my stay. Castara is a lovely, sleepy little fishing village where you get to know everyone very quickly. Tadpole was very well equipped which made my stay much easier. The location of the apartment was central and very lush and green. Staying there, felt like a home away from home, with pets included.

We stayed in Tadpoles for 3 weeks in Nov/Dec 2017 and felt right at home in the apartment. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and we were well looked after by Steve and Rita, the owners. Castara is amazing place and well worth visiting. The beaches are beautiful with plenty of opportunities for fishing trips, snorkelling and travelling around the island. The are regular social events in the village such as bonfires, BBQs and 'rum and drum', giving you a nice opportunity to meet people and get to know some locals. Tadpoles is within walking distance of everywhere in the village. We loved our time in Castara and would recommend to anyone!

Tadpoles gave us everything we needed; stunning views from the back door over a tree lined gully with abundant wildlife. The formal grounds to the front are kept neat and tidy with plenty of plant life - not to mention "the Amazing Bird House". The beach is stunning and the snorkeling is fantastic and perfect for beginners and experienced alike. Steve and Rita were so welcoming and couldn't have done any more to make us feel at home - thank you for a wonderful stay!

Unfortunately we were not quite satisfied with the condition of the apartment. There is a lot of dust in the netting above the bed, dust and mold on the curtains around the bed and dust on the fabric artistry hung around the room. The dust my husband's sinus and we had a hard time. There aren't enough utensils (i.e. Spoons, forks and knives) and the utensils that are there some are rusting and not fit for use. There are termite droppings on the floor around the wooden cupboard area to hang clothing etc. The shower head may need to be cleaned as the water is not very powerful. There is also a missing window pane by second set of louvres after the bed in the kitchen area. It appears as though the apartment has not been occupied for quite some time. Our intention was to rent elsewhere however already made our full payment. We ended up leaving a night earlier. This apartment did not give us the experience we expected as we were very uncomfortable. We certainly would not be booking again.

This bijou accommodation is ideal for couples, although the very very helpful owners, Steve and Rita, who live next door, kindly slotted in an extra bed for our daughter, whilst we waited to move into their larger accommodation, Toad Heights. The apartment has everything you need for self-catering and Steve and Rita could not have done more for us. The gardens are full of wildlife, being set back up the hillside from the bay and we loved waking to the sound of the chacharacas (cocricos) and spotting beautiful birds, lizards, toads and butterflies - there are even fireflies in the garden. This accommodation is a real bargain!

Perfect. This little gem greatly exceeded my expectations. Steps to the heart of the village and beautiful beaches. This adorable accomodation is set perfectly into the side of the mountain where you are surrounded by jungle, beautiful flowers and fruit trees. I saw the most amazing birds right from the yard every morning. Steve and Rita live right on the premesis and are very laid back and accommodating. I can't wait to return to tadpoles again!
