This review is written at the direction of VRBO as a step in an open case file about the billing experience with this Owner.
The advertisement posted by Owner claimed the unit sleeps 5 people and there would be a charge for cleaning on the bill.
On date of departure the Owner wrote us stating she would be charging us an additional amount for further cleaning.
Upon leaving the property we followed the owners instructions completely as written to us. The Owner wrote we had expressly agreed to clean the unit to clause 3 of our agreement. She advised we then did not clean the place to the satisfaction of her cleaning staff and there was a stain on a duvet cover that dry cleaning could not get out. No evidence has been provided for either claim.
After reviewing the terms of agreement, at the Owner’s direction to us, and our initial bill it has become clear - we were overcharged quite substantially on the initial bill than was initially advertised.
Then she further used our credit card to charge us more for unsubstantiated additional cleaning and for an additional person when we had the appropriate number for the unit.
We informed the Owner the place was cleaned prior to departure per the terms of agreement. We informed the Owner of her failure to abide by terms of her own agreement in overcharging us on the initial bill. The Owner did not respond to this correspondence.
The Owner’s behaviour is both disappointing and fraudulent.
The Owner refuses to honour her own contract, by charging more than agreed to on the initial bill without explanation and reason. The charge for further cleaning, is for cleaning beyond the terms of her own agreement, and without any evidence to support.
This Owner’s billing practices and conduct should be reviewed.
