Although the Puerto Alto complex is a few years old, and is currently been renovated and painted, this apartment has only recently been sold and decorated: brand new kitchen with new equipment, new bathrooms, (perfect) new beds and furniture, new AC. There are tow bedrooms with full size beds, the third bedroom is quite small, but is filled with a small double bed.
A huge sunny terrace with views over the harbour, new sunbeds and (gas) bbq. Great in October, but perhaps a bit too hot in the summer. Even in October it sometimes got too hot in the mornings to have breakfast outside.
The location is great too. The town center, two beaches, the supermarket and the harbour with numerous bars and restaurants are all within a few minutes walking distance (although the hill is pretty steep). You can stay here without a car, if you have to (though you would miss a lot of the area). Just a couple of 'downsides': as the complex is located in a busy part of Estepona, there are always city noises around, day and night (trucks!). That is the price you pay for the central location. If you want quiet evenings, look elsewhere (try Los Flamingos, where we stayed a few months earlier). The other thing is that you can only reach the pools from the outside of the complex, which requires going through three (!) locked gates. Not convenient for kids at all. There is no play area around the pools, just a tiny bit of grass. No sunbeds (or other furniture) around the pools when we were there, which we found strange. We spend most time at the beaches (Cristo beach, with shallow water and two decent beach restaurants), so it did not bother us much.
