Peaceful, and accessible, I'd buy it if I could afford it!
Wonderful location - and a flat walk from the vaporetto stop - no bridges to carry your case over (trust me, this matters!). Lovely ciccheti bar opposite side of the small piazza, it closes by 8 so no noise nuisance. A gelateria next door, not the largest selection, but large enough and home made, and delicious. Mini-supermarket in an adjoining square, open until late - has everything. Quiet location, not on the main tourist routes. Canal views to front and rear of the property.
The city is small, nowhere is beyond walking distance, and there are many great restaurants near by - but check the list left in the apartment for recommendations, a couple of times we tried a place that looked good and one was terrible, and the other just poor. I highly recommend La Bitta - good idea to book, we got there as they opened and got the last table on provision that we were done by 9 because the table was reserved.
The apartment was clean and had all the facilities we needed. It is hosted by a company, and not an individual, and had to wait only fifteen minutes while their agent (Giacomo - nice chap, helpful and good local knowledge) showed another guest another apartment a short way away. Not a problem with the cafe/bar opposite!
The apartment is in a block of six, it looks like the building was entirely refurbished maybe twenty years ago, and I think that maybe only one other apartment is a tourist rental, the others are local residents, so you are staying in a real venetian community, and not a soulless tourist zone.
