Quinta bom Vento is situated in the rolling hills of Portugal 65 km north of Lisbon International Airport. The 5 separate suites offer full kitchenettes in which it is difficult to find anything missing, wanted, or required above what is already supplied to you. These rooms are unique to this small village, surrounded by grapes for wine making and a variety of fruit trees, offering peace and serenity.
An old farm converted from yesteryear, the new modern buildings blend well with the neighbouring properties. Our room, the "Adriatic", offered privacy with an open balcony to the greenery and bird song which fills the air. In the rooftop loft, the constant smell of flowers blooming, wafts up from the gardens below. We enjoyed the true meaning of peace during our six night stay.
Rich and Sam are all about the details here, from the little extras found in the room, to their open armed warmth and friendship. We could not have asked for better hosts for a first visit to Portugal. Fresh baked bread from the wood fired ovens down the lane, were just one of the perks we were offered during our stay. They have an easiness about them, and before you know it, you have been given great tips for touring, and advice for travel to nearby places. Some must see treasures in the area include Obidos, and Buddha Eden. A little further afield you will find Sintra, Aveiro, and Lisbon, all full of things to see and do.
An amazing respite away from everyday life, this port of call is a definite return in our future.
