Extremely pleasant stay at Casa Marcelo.
Booked a week in this lovely region of sunny Portugal for 6 of us , Casa Marcelo is lovely ,spacious and modern with all the facilities to accommodate 6+ people the bedrooms are salacious and on suite the property also offers plenty of entertainment , pool table ,swimming pool and a nice sized garden great for barbecues and sunbathing.

An ideal house, well set out and with excellent facilities. More of a home than a rental house, so it is well equipped and lovingly maintained.

You will not be disappointed with this villa. Pictures don’t do it justice. Ultra modern and fully equipped.
We were a party of 5 adults and 5 kids and there is plenty of space both inside and out.
Extras include a welcome basket on arrival, pool inflatables, play station games and film DVDs.
Excellent communication with both Carlos the owner (before and after) and Olga his representative who proved invaluable.
You WILL NEED a car! Location is very rural and quiet. If you don’t plan on cooking for yourself be prepared to travel to supermarkets and restaurants.
The lagoon is beautiful, unspoilt and PERFECT for kids. So much better than a beach. Just a 15 min stroll away. Close enough to visit everyday.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this villa.

PERFECT VILLA!
A lovely villa in a quiet location, but an easy walk to Obidos Lagoon and drive to beautiful historic Obidos itself - a world heritage site. Great facilities, really good size pool with inflatables provided!!! Olga was available to deal with any issues, not that we had any - in fact everything was perfect!

Very well equiped villa in quiet location.
Excellent villa and reasonably priced. The overseas owner and his local representative in Portugal could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Close to a sandy beach and water activities on the lagoon and only a 25 minute drive to the gem that is Obidos.

Fabulous house
Casa Marcelo provides all the ingredients for a perfect holiday. Set in a quiet road close to the lagoon, the modern architecture nestles amongst its more traditional neighbours without appearing out of place. The house was immaculate when we arrived; the garden is well maintained and better proportioned than it appears on the website, there is also parking within the grounds for 2 cars. The rooms are all amply proportioned, decorated to a high standard and all bedrooms have an en-suite. The pool was pre loaded with plenty of inflatables for the kids and the pool side sofas provided a relaxed area for the non swimmers. If you can tear yourself away from the pool the large tv screen has a DVD player and ps3 as well as an out of tune piano (adding some rustic charm to the modern surroundings) a guitar (look but don’t touch we were told) and a custom built pool table, oh and table football. There’s also a separate gym in the corner of the garden, however this is not as impressive as the rest of the house; more a concrete shed with weights in.
The kitchen as with the rest of the house was a handsome size. This was the only area of slight disappointment as for such a high spec house the kitchen equipment was relatively basic. We cooked more meals than we usually do on holiday so if you’re eating out then this probably won’t be a problem. There are bars and restaurants within a 15 minute walk and the lagoon/ beach the same. There’s plenty of options for eating out both locally and in Óbidos and it’s well positioned for exploring the wider region.
This was one of the best holidays our family has been on and we were all sad to leave. We don’t tend to stay in the same place more than once but if we ever return to this part of Portugal, I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Fantastic villa
We spent a wonderful week at Casa Marcelo. There was plenty of room for two families.
The villa itself was very stylishly decorated and felt luxurious.
Although very pleasant, the outside space was slightly limited and the pool was rather small compared with the size of the house. The area is quite overlooked, and doesn't afford a particularly pleasant view. The gym was also something of a disappointment.
The kitchen was very well stocked, although it was quite easy to miss some items in the somewhat hidden cupboard space in the island!
The surrounding area was beautiful, and I would recommend a visit to Obidos, the Bhuddha garden and the local beach (beware the Weaver fish though!).
I was left a little disappointed by the lack of contact from Olga during our visit. We had a quick, and very friendly, tour of the villa upon our arrival but that was the extent of our contact. We weren't told when the gardeners would be visiting the properly, for example, and we would have rearranged our day to avoid being in had we known. I would also expect to meet before departure to ensure that the villa is all in order. We did receive our deposit back though, with no problems.
I would definitely recommend this property.
