Absolutely perfect place, feels like your second house
I couldn't make a better choice than staying in The Carribean at QBV. Beautiful designed, clean and with all the amenaties you need to feel fully comfortable. The views overlooking a valley are stunning. The owners of QBV Sam and Richard do everything to let you have a great stay, introduce you to other guests at QBV if you want, but respect your privacy also. Óbidos is a 5 minutes drive away, also big groceries stores and the A8 and A15 highways.
If you don't have a home in Portugal, QBV is definitely the place for your temporary stay.

A Wonderful Experience
If a small, luxury boutique hotel married a warm, inviting country inn, and they had 5 quintas (or children, in another analogy), it would be (and is) the Quinta do Bom Vento.
It is impossible to describe Quinta do Bom Vento without sounding like a travel brochure full of superlatives. But even that does not come close to capturing the experience of staying there. A brochure cannot articulate the feeling of satisfied perfection one feels there. The sense of peacefulness, and satiety.
I think it is a combination of the warmth & helpfulness of the owners, the food and treats that await your arrival, the aesthetic: the detailed perfection of each quinta & the magnificence of surrounding landscape, that goes so far beyond words.
I arrived to QBV in a tense state of mind. I left, only 5 days later, feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and calm. I mean sincerely that no review will do QBV justice; it simply must be experienced to be understood.

Can't wait to go back!
I stayed at Quinta do Bom Vento in mid-March, just as the Coronavirus was making its impact. I had booked 3 nights in the Caribbean but ended up staying 9 as my plans changed due to almost daily changes in how the next hotels on my itinerary were responding to the virus. I was so grateful that Rich and Sam were so gracious and accommodating. But even without the virus, I would have wanted to stay longer than 3 days. QBV is gorgeous and sits top this little valley with beautiful hiking trails. And I couldn't have picked a better place to get "stuck" in. The Caribbean was perfect. I LOVED the outside deck, and thought the unique alcove bed was super comfy. The whole place is beautifully decorated and super clean. Sam & Rich are so generous and thoughtful. I felt welcomed and "at home" right away. Excellent hosts that I now consider friends. Can't wait to go back.
