The house was comfortable and relaxing with a beautiful view over the loch. Rathmullan was close by and cycleable. The village was lovely with 2 great cafes. Belles for sourdough bread and breakfast, An Stad had a wonderful music night - "Frida's" - on a Friday night very friendly beautiful music and singing. We swam in the sea enjoying the local beaches I can thoroughly recommend this as a relaxing holiday destination.

Fabulous Rathmullan
This was our first ever house stay and we loved it. What a fabulous home to go to. John the host is very accommodating and very quickly answered any of our queries. If your looking for a home from home a few minutes drive from Rathmullan please dont hesitate to book this gorgeous home. Thanks again John , we will be back.

Wonderful!
I stayed in this darlin wee place in March this year and would have to say whatever problems there’d been had certainly been resolved as we arrived to a very warm, welcoming cottage. I had somehow managed to let Rita and John know I was celebrating a rather large birthday and was charmed to be met with chocolates and a card, a very sweet gesture. So also was the fire being laid for us and just everything ready for what was a great weekend. The kitchen is very well stocked, a cooks kitchen really which you wouldn’t guess from the description and the cosy little dining area surrounded by books and historical notes is utterly charming. The views are breathtaking and to sit with your toes to the fire looking out over the bay which is feet away is a little bit of heaven. Like so many others I will certainly be back and next time maybe take more of the walks I’d intended to!

Lovely stay in rathmullen
Great first time stay in rathmullen, excellent house although could do with a bit if TLC. Gorgeous views around the property, ideal base for our wedding visit at Drumhalla House. Lovely quaint town, Rathmullen, with community festival on the time we visited, great atmosphere!
Only two issues during our stay- firstly we couldn't find the property as the house name is nowhere in sight & secondly, no gas for the hob as the previous occupants had used it all, but on both occasions we contacted John who immediately sorted our issues! Great all round. Would love to return again.

Fantastic house, views and setting
Myself and two good friends stayed at the house in January and it was cosy, homely and very well equiped. The house is architect designed, well furnished, with ample bathrooms and bedrooms. The views towards Lough Swilly and the Inishown peninsula are spectacular. We had snow and big blue skies during our stay, which made the views all the more dramatic. With a fab open fire and great central heating we were toasty after big walks on Portsalon beach. This property is excellent for a rural Donegal escape, quiet and tranquil, but also close to the amenities of Rathmullan.

Great stay in beautiful setting.
Loved the location and the views over Lough Swilly but not walking distance to the pub,unfortunately! It helped greatly that we had the best weather of the whole summer, the locals told us. We had some issues at the beginning of our stay but these were very quickly and efficiently handled by the owner once he was contacted. Would love to return again someday.

Away from the madding crowd
Needing a quiet break from the stresses of modern day life, we chose Tulaigh Bui because of its seclusion and we were not disappointed.
The house is well-appointed and the views are stunning, though the trees have matured a bit since the build and so obscure a more panoramic vista. There is plenty of space in the house and it was obvious that the owners also use it as it had that familiar family feel about it.
The surrounding area is magnificent if you want to explore but if the sun shines and all you want to do is relax and look over the lough, then the small patio area is perfect. If the weather turns a bit cooler then the open fire (burning peat logs and drift wood from the nearby small beach) warms the heart and rests the mind.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay and would definitely return if further exploration of that part of Donegal is in our future plans.

Wonderful, relaxing stay
This place is really special. Amazing views, lovely quiet location. We wanted a relaxing break away from it all and Tulaigh Bui didn't disappoint. This is a great base for walking, cycling, swimming, sailing ... or just sitting and enjoying the view. Would love to return one day.

More like a family home than a holiday let. Fabulous views of Lough Swilly. Sun glinting off the water in the morning. Generous thoughtful hosts. Well equipped. Lots of dining opportunities in Rathmullan and around. A great find. We'll be back.

Very comfortable and stylish cottage
I would absolutely recommend Tulaigh Bui. Superior accommodation, above average facilities. Everything you could possibly want is provided. Wonderful views and beach only a few minutes walk. An ideal base to explore or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
