We were a party of 11 who booked this for a weekend as part of my mums 60th celebrations. The owner of the cottage was a warm and friendly lady who makes you instantly feel at home and welcomed.
The cottage is a great size, and thanks to the location of all the bedrooms and main rooms, you never feel on top of each other, or overly worried about waking people up in the morning or night (a very important factor for us as we had 5 children with us). The enclosed garden was a fantastic size and perfect for our dogs. The cows as neighbours were the icing on the cake for us, and a firm favourite for the children :)
What could be improved:
(Firstly, let me make it clear that we LOVED our stay and will be back, this is just nit-picking because we all agreed you have the makings of a perfect large holiday rental)
- Conservatory. The roof needs attention as it would let rain in so we had to keep cleaning up a small puddle.
- Dogs. Open the restrictions on dogs as your accommodation is perfectly sized and set out for them. We got special permission to take 3 small dogs, but this meant 1 of ours a Great Dane couldn’t come, and it was a shame because the place is more than able to accommodate larger dogs, and responsible owners like us would gladly leave a larger deposit to take them.
- Games room. The games room is a great size and the table tennis ensured some great competition (even if I did keep losing). However, the pool tables were unusable, the skittles looked so brittle we were scared to use them, no darts for the dart board, and just a general tired old youth club feel to it. With some new equipment it could be an amazing feature.
- Hot tub. Although it’s great to have use of one, the chlorine levels seemed a tad high and left users a bit smelly after.
We couldn’t recommend these cottages enough, it is a fantastic base and would like to thank all involved for a lovely weekend.
